This is for the Wiggins location, and it's horrible! If you can find another place to go to I would go there. I started using my primary care doctor to get my medications because this place is poorly run. I don't even know how it is still in business. They don't help people.

Dr. Fox is great! The office staff -RUDE! I’m currently looking for a different doctor because I never get my meds on time. I start calling a week early, end up continuing to call a week after to get them called in. It makes a person feel like they are “drug seeking” when it’s only trying to get your meds ON TIME! It’s not like I want to get my meds early. Just ON TIME would be spectacular. Then, when you call the office they treat you like you’re a drug addict. I would know, I’m in recovery! This was one of the benefits of getting clean… to stop chasing meds! But nope, not here… it FEELS like I’m having to chase down my meds. Every month about a week before time to call them in I start getting anxious, I start stressing and this haunts me EVERY DAY until I am able to pick up my meds! This is horrible to treat your patients this way.

I checked in with $200 to satisfy my family but my first night there they gave me medication wish I didn't understand I haven't even been evaluated yet but less than an hour later I fell unconscious walking to the bathroom slamming my face to the floor which broke my nose in four spots, knocked out 6 teeth, head over 30 fractures in my face and my heart rate dropped to 15 beats a minute, I spent five days after that at the University of New Orleans hospital. This was in May I still haven't been able to get my $200 back or my teeth fixed.

I went here for years, and the entire time it was messy and unprofessional. There were times I wouldn't get my medicine for a month at a time due to them simply forgetting to schedule me a doctor day. I had over 10 therapists throughout the time I was here because they kept leaving, going to different jobs or different clients. People are regularly switched out including doctors and therapists, not to mention the "peer support specialists" who call you once every few months. Mental health care is awful in Mississippi to begin with but this is honestly shocking. I don't know anyone who has had a Good experience going here and it's sad the way they treat patients. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE.

Region 8 is extremely unethical. They claimed they are trained to provide therapy and have specialized training but I never received any type of psychotherapy. Also, they can never keep staff, the psych nurse quit after my 1st visit and they did not have anyone for medication refill for about two months. My therapist Alexia did not provide me with any resources and would not refer me to Community Support even when I told her about my situation. Lastly, I was scheduled to meet with the psychologist for an evaluation but it was just another intake interview. Please do yourself a favor and look else where.

Became a patient in Aug 23. It went really good. Quick, easy….then my provider quit and they put me with an absolute bully. Ms Kathy shouldn’t be able to deal with people as a gas station attendant, much less a doctor. When I showed her that she wasn’t going to bully me she decided to stop my meds I’ve been taking for 16 years without warning.

This place is terrible. Dr Billy or whatever his name is prescribed my dad all of these different medications “guessing” and “trying” things on him like he’s a pig. He did not know what was causing my dad sleep deprivation. My dad has heart failure, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. You cannot just try things on someone with so many health problems!! You are only making them sicker!! This health system is worsening. I do not recommend this place and Mississippi in general has the worst healthcare on the planet. I am an Alabama citizen and I regret moving my dad back home to Mississippi everyday!

MD didn't help with medication. ..only made my depression worse & the side effecats were dangerous enough to harm & were addicting (Neurontin/Gabapantin). Notes taken did not help my disability case pertaining to MDD/ Anxiety Disorder. Also, was seeing Therapist. Wrote a very personal journal about the traumas, mental/emotional abuse throughout my life but come to find out, therapy notes are not requested by Dept. Of Rehabilitation for disability cases; therefore, I felt my time was wasted. A grant was approved for my services; therefore, I didn't have to pay. They help you get cheap meds through Genoa but I never got my meds in the time frame I needed. For my pain, I will stick with an Orthopedic physician. Just my experience. Not the place for me....might be for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Mississippi?
When comparing providers in Mississippi, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Mississippi?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Mississippi?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Mississippi providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Mississippi providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
