It’s terrible don’t go here. I only like one person there and shes the one that asks you questions to gauge your mental illness. The doctor there that you have to talk to/get your medicine prescribed from is extremely rude and dismissive of your problems especially if you’re a woman. The woman that sits at the desk to take calls( the receptionist) has literally hung up in my face before after picking up the phone and not saying anything. I could hear the back ground clearly. I was having strong side effects to a medicine he was prescribing and he tried to keep me on the same meds. I went to my primary doctor and asked for a med change and the psychologist/psychiatrist was genuinely mad by that. (You don’t even see him in person by the way it’s over a computer thats hard to hear out of, understand, and communicate with). Like he took it personally like his ego was bruised. Telling me basically he knows what he’s doing and I was being irresponsible.

Terrible place. Psychiatrist is horrible. Also you wait n the waiting room for 4 hours. They say they will see you up with counseling and never do.
I've been here I got released about 5 days and I'm just gonna say DO NOT send your children here. They treat you like animals for no reason. They think that you lie about how you feel.
Caring choices should be called ableist and judgmental choices. I asked if accommodations could be made for my disability. They asked me what I had and felt the need to tell me what I should be able to do and not do. Then compared me to other disabled people who go into their clinic. Thanks for making my mental health worse.
I waited two full months for help from this place, clinging to the name “Center for Hope and Change” like a lifeline. I was in a dark place. I barely got out of bed for weeks, just holding on, waiting. When my first appointment was canceled, no one told me why. I accepted it—told myself this was my journey and I had to wait. When the second appointment finally came, I showed up for a video call, desperate and trusting. I was treated like an interruption, not a person. I received less than 15 minutes of attention, and then I found out the doctor—Rosalyn Darty—never submitted the paperwork. That’s why everything fell apart. When I tried to fix it, she told the staff my insurance didn’t cover it—before even checking. It was a lie. Then she pulled all my prescriptions and dismissed me completely. I don’t write this lightly. I trusted them. I had everything ready from Arizona—organized, hopeful—and they crushed it. If this place claims to offer hope, it has no business dismissing people like me. I deserved care. Not damage. No star for the Dr only is really my experience GOOGLE REVIEW ADDENDUM – (Comment or Second Review) Title: Addendum: What Actually Happened with Rosalyn Darty Review Text: Here’s what really happened. I came into Center for Hope and Change after relocating from Arizona. I had all my records, prescriptions, codes—everything documented. I was desperate, hopeful, and resigned to waiting, assuming the name “Hope and Change” meant something. My first appointment was canceled with no explanation. I waited another month and a half, spiraling in the dark. Barely getting out of bed. Assuming they knew better than me. When I finally saw Dr. Rosalyn Darty (by video), I received under 15 minutes of attention. She asked me to “wake up” at the beginning of the call, completely dismissing my exhaustion and trauma. I explained exactly what medications I needed, how long I had been on them, why they were necessary, and that I had no other options. I begged, clearly, calmly, urgently. She didn’t believe me. She denied me the medication I had been prescribed safely for years, then called the front desk and told them the pharmacy wouldn’t cover it—a lie. The pharmacy needed a diagnosis code. She never sent one. She had no way of knowing coverage without checking, and I’d already filled the exact prescription in Louisiana a month before. After I pushed hard for a resolution—calling over and over, asking for her to call the pharmacy, asking the front desk for help—I was told she pulled every one of my prescriptions. She never followed up. She never gave a valid explanation. She halved my dosage, ignored urgent needs, and retaliated when I pushed back. Let me be clear: the front desk staff were kind and tried to help, and the counselor Carmella Lafitte is the only reason I haven’t left this place completely. She is gifted, grounded, and the opposite of what I experienced with Darty. But this kind of power-tripping dismissal—pretending I didn’t know what I needed, ignoring diagnosis codes, withholding medications, then lying about coverage—has real consequences. I’m not writing this for sympathy. I’m writing it to say: this is how people fall through the cracks. Not because they’re weak—but because providers like this think no one will ever speak up. I am.
Several occurrences where communication was not communicated. Several encounters with last minute changes and having to redo the entire process. Waited two months for no call back after calling every week checking up just to hear that there is a wait list 2 months later. Horrible service. Do not recommend.
They hit and yell at the kids, and view them as lower than them. Former patient, my personal experience was better than most but what i saw was pretty evil.
I can only comment on my experience. This place does not deserve to have a 5 star rating on Google. As a former patient on two separate occasions, the needs for my mental health were not addressed but mocked. My needs were never addressed and the counseling sessions made me feel worse. I do not recommend treatment for anyone here.
I hate this place, I hate this place, I hate this place. The counsellor/therapist, while had some easy fixes early on, eventually left me feeling like I, as the person, am not being seen. That I am just the extra paycheck to the clinic from insurance. Never listens until they've talked so much that I've gone empty-headed and forgotten what I had come prepared with. Even stopping me from talking when I am getting it out that can be used to help identify the problem I am having but cant see. The staff are all fine and kind in my experience. Yet, why is the bathroom for urine sampling have to be the lobby bathroom on the other side of the building from getting the cup and the bathroom stalls incredibly cramped. Whatever this policy was and with the structure there is, is incredibly cruel
I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use this place very very very unprofessional, unorganized, and not a kid friendly place at all. The Dr. receptionists, MHP and MHC all need licenses reviewed and some training is needed. Parents are referred to these people to get help. This place felt like the help needing the help . Blind leading the blind.
They made 6 of us sit outside in the heat and the receptionist would not let us inside to sit inside in the ac.
I’ve had to scheduled an urgent appointment for my medications. When I arrived the lady at the front desk had a really bad attitude. Then the doctor decided not to see me and required me to reschedule it. I am out of medications and they would not make accommodations for their actions. I’ve noticed the low ratings before deciding to change mental health locations from Algiers to St Bernard Parish because I am a firm believer that everyone deserves the benefit of doubt. This is one of the main reason that go unseen which leads to unfortunate circumstances in Louisiana. We deserve better!
My 7 year old son was sent here bc his Dr gave him a strong dose of adhd meds and my son didn’t do well with it. He had hallucinations & anxiety really bad. This staff not all but some were horrible to my child. Mind you he’s only 7 and has never been away from me ever! He has never slept away from me and much less with strangers. So of course he cried his little eyes out as did I. I rented a hotel room in the city bc I lived 4 hours away and there was no way I was leaving my baby there by himself. I wanted to feel close to him and I
