The staff at LAC is amazing. Felicia has helped my mental/emotional well so very much. The level of care Kerstin has shown in case management is truly magic. Tre's passion can be felt in my heart. Amy and Allison's knowledge of the science behind addiction is incredible. Delaine and Mike W's care and protection of clients is unmatched. I would highly recommend LAC to anyone in need of help.

If i could give less than 1 star I would. Changed Lives Simply is out for money from clients with syate insurance. The owner Chris could care less wheather you make it or not, he will be back at Recovery Works rehab to round up 10 more clients the next week. He cramps as many grown men as he can into a barracks style living situation with absolutely zero privacy or consideration for Recovery. Does not help individuals get anything they need as far as clothes, food gov phones and requires cash payment the second week after arrival. No excuses. In Early Recovery many can be triggered by all sorts of things in the city but Chris and his goonie house managers(who also threaten violence and try to intimidate, very prison mentality)do not care about your recovery..You are forced out into the weather to look for work in person, knowing very well everything is online and can be done there. Oh BTW, if your favored by the house "manager", you will be allowed to get away with drinking on a daily basis. Its very much ran off personality rather principle. DO NOT RECOMMEND.. The Owner Chris simply doesnt care who stay or makes it. He returns every week to Recovery works in Georgetown KY to round up more individuals hunting for money. Worst program ive been to by far. Its literally a shelter. Thats what they tell you when you shown up..go eat at the shelter behind the Building I Warn anyone to avoid this place.. UpUpdate..im told Changed Lives is Still billing my insurance as of March 30th. If you do not bill insurances why do you collect insurance from every client during intake process?

EXCELLENT CARE GIVEN TO US. We went to Dr. Appointment with Dr. Shoptaw thinking he'd schedule surgery date at a later time. We were over 2 hours ftom home. My husband was unexpectedly admitted that day. Surgery the following morning. We didn't bring anything to be prepared for this. They saw to our every need and above. Can't say enough about the care, from Drs, nurses, aides, absolutely everyone. We've been to St.marys, Cabel Huntington,Uk,PMC. Nothing bad to say to them but never got the assistance and care like Hazard ARH gave us. A special thanks to Dr. Shoptaw. God blessed us.

Let me also mention that Jennifer has been a big help when I need to get in to see about meds or med changes she gets me in as soon as possible.

Listen, this is the best rehab place I’ve been to and I just graduated a program on December 19 and their staff and they strive to help you achieve you cook your own food so it determines whether you’re a good cook or not whether the food is good hope is a really good person. She makes it fun for the holiday Festive The staff tried to help you out as much as they can as much as you’re willing to go with your treatment so if you weren’t willing to work on your treatment, that’s the reason you didn’t get help. I’ve learned a lot of new stuff from this rehab and even though it’s just a 28 day treatment. I’ve learned new coping skills and everything in there and I would recommend this place to other people so for all the negative common you shouldn’t have done things to get you kicked out I was in the treatment center for 28 days and had one right up because I was focused on my treatment not doing everything else thank y’all, I’m really glad I had y’all as a part of my journey

The staff is great. They treat you like a human being and not just a paycheck like most dr offices. I love going there and love the people. I would highly recommend them to anyone. They are very thorough. They don't hesitate if you need help with anything. I have absolutely no complaints. I am gonna miss Keisha Perkins. She is amazing! Lori and Crystal has bent over backwards to help me with problems I've had with the drugstore. I want to thank each of you for being helpful, kind and compassionate. Love you all!

I can't say enough good things about this therapy office. It's a place where you truly feel seen and heard. The care, patience, and professionalism shown here have made a huge difference in my life. My therapist, Macie, is absolutely wonderful, kind, attentive, and truly perfect at what she does. You can tell she genuinely cares. The owner, Kristie, has built something really special, growing a small practice into a trusted and thriving space that now serves surrounding counties. If you're nervous about starting therapy, this is truly a wonderful place to begin!

CHNK is a wonderful organization if your child is in need of learning coping skills or moving forward from adverse experiences. CHNK offers tools so children can succeed in everyday life. They have a wonderful team of medical staff, therapists, cottage staff and community volunteers who truly care about the wellbeing of the children. All of the doctors nurses and staff there are incredible. I’ve moved quite a bit from Virginia, to Georgia to Kentucky and every other VA I’ve been to you get a sense that the doctors and staff don’t really care. That is not the case here. Everyone is super friendly here and tend to your medical needs promptly and efficiently.

I have been seeking counseling since I was a teenager. Place after place, I never felt heard or seen. Cheryl Headen is the best clinical counselor I've ever been to, and I've been in her care for 3+ yrs. She has helped me more than I think she will ever know. Through CBT, she has helped me understand negative thought patterns that were not serving me.. patterns I couldn't see my way out of alone, because I was alone and stuck. I feel like I have slowly but certainly bloomed over the last few years, and I'm now seriously considering a Psychology major to try and help people as well. She is passionate about her work, and if you're patient and willing to go through the motions, I believe you will find tremendous benefit from her counseling services!! Amanda Waddell is also amazingly receptive. She has helped me with proper medication management, as well as being a greatly enthusiastic and supportive person. These people have saved my life, and helped keep me going. I can't speak highly enough of them. 💜

These people really care about helping people recover from drug addiction. They accommodate their clients in as many ways as possible. I would have gave them a five-star review but they don't have a coffee pot in their lobby even though I suggested it. They said it gets too messy but alcoholics and addicts love coffee. Nu lease. If you see this, get a coffee pot in your lobby and I'll give you a five-star review. I've been a client here over 2 years. You can put it directly where I took a photo.

I wanted to leave a review update since I haven't been to Lifeskills in about 4 months. Looking back I really think I benefited from my experience at the Metcalfe County Lifeskills in Edmonton Kentucky 42129 more than my other experiences with the other Lifeskills locations. I had the same therapist my entire time I went to Lifeskills in Edmonton Kentucky 42129 and he retired about 4 months ago and now I can honestly say going to talk to him and knowing him made me feel alot better about my life. I found him very interesting and informative. I would like to have most of those times back but it is impossible. I also met a few other nice people there while attending- some worked in the office, one worked at the TR program when it was open, but truthfully my former therapist made me feel alot better about myself, more than any body else I've spent alot of time with I probably could honestly say. I think Lifeskills is going through some changes recently so I can't really say how treatment is currently but I know I probably wouldn't be here today if I hadn't have been seeing my former therapist there. I appreciate the time some people that worked there dedicated to my life. If you are needing some service from Lifeskills I'd say it would be worth going and trying to see if it would be helpful to you because you may get someone that will make a difference in your life, like someone did in mine. No guarantees though, that's almost always true with about anything. I would have liked to have more notice about people leaving for retirement but it is impossible to go back and change what has already happened. Don't expect miracles when you go and maybe you will look back eventually and think about certain memories you made along the way that meant more to you than you even realized at the time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Kentucky?
When comparing providers in Kentucky, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Kentucky?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Kentucky?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Kentucky providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Kentucky providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
