Horrible. Not a real therapist. We were seeing Asia & she never “worked with,” my child or even talked to her about anything important. The kids just sit in & have art class & don’t get into anything at all. When even suggesting family therapy or any concerns I have they were met with refusive behavior as if she wants to do the Least just to get paid & does not work with Parents at all. Anytime an issue or something concerning came up her first instinct to blame the parent or single parent even though we are the ones bringing our children out of “care.” No way to communicate. Her exact words were several times “I’m not here to work With the kids on anything I am just here to Listen.” In other words - enabling. Tricked us into saying she will be willing to do family therapy only upon getting there for it telling me that she doesn’t “do family therapy that she will Simulate a session.” She will also try to use her “psychology skills,” to get into your head making you believe what you’re asking for is too much. Good thing I know a lot about psychology. I wasn’t born yesterday & I also have an amazing therapist & psychiatrist that I’ve been seeing for 8 years now who has Never & would Never pull this on me.

I have had severe anxiety and depression my whole life. I was referred here by Dr. Mohammad and it was the worst place for me! They are rude, if your lucky enough to get a medication it's only what doesn't work. I have a Genesight test to show i can't take the antidepressants she wanted to give me so now my quality of life has been little to nothing because of this place not helping me. I don't understand how they stay in business. Their therapist Cocoa will only give you medicine you can't take or you don't get any medicine at all, how is that fair to the patient that waited for months to get in suffering all the way. Oh yeah and here's another kicker, I passed my drug test and I'm not red flagged, so why am I not able to get the medications I've needed and had for years until now? Our health care is the worst in New Albany and this place is part of the problem. We need to restart all the medical care in this area. It's mostly people self medicating which is against my religion so I feel like my Christianity has been affected by all of this also. God put medicine here for a reason, where is it all going to if the doctors won't let the patients have what their God given body isn't getting it? Why is my insurance company paying for visits that end in me being my own doctor?

I don't recommend for counseling. Was told no one on one was available and was put in a group setting that I didn't understand and upset me.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Indiana?
When comparing providers in Indiana, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Indiana?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Indiana?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Indiana providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Indiana providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
