I became a member of New Era over three years ago, and I must say the staff, counselors, and nurses really take the time to get to know you and help you on your journey to a clean and healthy lifestyle. I had Jen as my counselor and Eddie as my mental health therapist and they went above and beyond to see that my needs were met and it was very reassuring. In the last month they moved locations and the set up is beautiful and well organized. My only small complain is that the mental health program is being discontinued at this location which makes things quite harder. Yet, overall I'm extremely pleased with New Era and the employees that are always willing to help their patients, A+ and keep up the good work!

Adelia - The receptionist - is one of the rudest people I have ever met. Doesn’t matter how nice you are to that woman, you will always be a burden to her. My psychiatrist Dr. Awwa was great! Lovely doctor, listened to me and helped me create a treatment plan, however, because of Adelia, I took my business elsewhere. If she is replaced, I wouldn’t think twice about going back!

Lucy the midwife messed me up for life ! Refusing to listen to me when I told her to stop touching me while giving birth follow up when I told them I’m having pelvic pain they brushed me off and didn’t listen to me told me it was normal it go away but it’s been two whole years and no it hasn’t went away it’s not normal ! So much I have to say and I’m pissed anyways my leg goes numb I’m still in pain I’m in severe pain I can’t sleep , sit , stand up , run or do the activities I used to do without being in pain ! Now I’m traumatized to give birth again ! Because she made my first time so traumatic for me I even kicked her out the room I even told her I want someone else not her and she refused to listen to me she said “ no I have to be here “ and again I know my body I know something was wrong and she didn’t care now I’m not the same I’m in pain everyday this is crazy ! If I can rewind time I would’ve never even let her induced me that day I would’ve waited till the next day or so to have my baby because this is the worse experience ever I wouldn’t even trust her with my future pregnancy not sure how I feel about the other midwife’s because everything changed I feel like the nurse / midwife’s are lazy now they don’t care what goes on with you after you have the baby they just tell you everything going to go back to normal but it’s two whole years !!!! I wish I can give this place a 0 review but one star will do so much I want to say but I’m keeping it short.

Such awful, disrespectful and unprofessional people. This place is against tourists recording in public. Not only are they representing their business badly but also their religion. This is the man who called the police on the tourist and the unknown lady in the office who flipped them off. And they wonder why there is a disconnect between the people and them. Avoid this place at all costs . Police came and told that business that the tourists have the RIGHT to record anything in public.

I was here as a client in 2020 and I had a pretty positive experience. The staff were professional and caring and many of the groups were interesting. Some staff went above and beyond to help me and I still remember them. My individual therapist was especially wonderful. It’s difficult to find programs that are professional while also being warm and welcoming, but this program was exactly that. There is a lot of structure which can feel strict and limiting, but sometimes that’s what is needed to heal. I would recommend this place above anywhere else I’ve received treatment.

I cannot express enough how transformative my experience with Jaime has been. From our very first session, it was clear that I was in the hands of a highly skilled and compassionate professional. She created a warm and welcoming environment where I felt safe to share my thoughts and feelings. Her ability to listen deeply and validate my experiences made a significant difference in my healing journey. I appreciated her insightful questions and gentle nudges, which helped me explore issues I hadn’t fully addressed before. Each session felt purposeful, and I left with practical tools that I could apply in my daily life.

CarePlus honestly saved my life. While it’s primarily group therapy focused, Sheri was an excellent facilitator (and therapist) for the group (and on an individual basis, as well). If you need support regarding mental health and/or overcoming substance use, this is the best facility in the area for PHP/IOP. From the first day, you can tell the faculty actually cares and wants you to succeed in overcoming any challenges you face regarding mental health/substance use. With the help of their case workers, their support goes beyond just your treatment which helps you feel supported even outside of PHP/IOP. Highly recommend CarePlus to anyone in need of this care.

JFS Care at Home has been a wonderful partner to our family in helping care for our mother. They have provided us with an aide who feels like a supportive friend and has become an important part of our family. We have had very good experiences with the substitute aides that fill in on occasion. I believe that is due in large part to the fact that agency staff are an active part of the care process. Our Care Coordinator, Donna, checks in with us regularly; makes visits to our mother to see how she is and how care is going. She communicates changes in schedules well and demonstrates real concern for us as a family and for her team. Bringing someone into your home to provide care is a big step and can have lots of emotion involved. It's not always easy, but our experience with JFS Care at Home has been a smooth and comforting experience. Highly recommend!

I had a pediatric therapist and after aging out and getting transferred to the adult one it was not a nice experience. The adult therapist was with me for two months and left the office and her supervisor is my supposed therapist…and I made an appointment to see her. It was a study appointment so she can write a letter for the US Army indicating I no longer need therapy. And this woman lied to her manger telling her she called me saying she’s not comfortable writing it…WHEN SHE NEVER DID LOL WHAT. WHERE WAS THIS LADY WHEN I CALLED THE OFFICE MANY TIMES LEAVING NOTES AND INSISTING?? And they tell me to go somewhere else to get the letter…what kind of office are you to say that? Worse office in CT for taking care of patients. And as a Psychology Major for the US army soon…I will never ever work for an office like this one ever! And I will never speak to a patient the way Debora spoke to me, insulting the army, and saying inappropriate things about my family. Thanks for trying to convince me to not get enlisted…but you doing that made me be more interested in going.

I am currently a patient being treated at the Manchester, CT location of CBHA. I receive Spravato (esketamine) therapy in their clinical setting. The office is comfortable and warmly decorated. There are multiple treatment room options, a more private space for some and a more communal space for others. The Nurse Practitioner, Lauren Franza, who administers the treatment and monitors patients is wonderful. She has created a warm and nurturing environment where patients interact with each other and celebrate growth. There are a lot of little touches in the office to make it feel more at home. I've also interacted with Jolene and Jaime, who are both wonderful. Truly a great place for healing and growth.

I cannot recommend Dr. Carter enough. From the very first session, she made me feel heard, understood, and genuinely cared for. I was incredibly nervous about starting medication, unsure of how it would affect me, and honestly scared of the whole process. But Dr. Carter took the time to walk me through everything, answer my questions, and never made me feel pressured. She combined thoughtful conversation with careful medication management, ensuring that I felt comfortable every step of the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Connecticut?
When comparing providers in Connecticut, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Connecticut?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Connecticut?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Connecticut providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Connecticut providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
