Currently, the front desk staff appears to lack finesse in their approach to handling individuals. However, the therapists demonstrate a high level of proficiency and have seldom caused any issues. Should any complications arise, they are promptly and easily resolved. It is worth noting that this establishment is one of the few that accepts Medicaid and offers timely appointments. In my honest opinion, if you are in search of a reputable therapist, this may be an appropriate choice. However, it is important to recognize that the front desk staff requires considerable improvement. Additionally, reaching out to them can be quite cumbersome, particularly at their Fort Smith location where calls often go unanswered. Given that their client base consists of individuals with high levels of anxiety and various disorders, this situation raises concerns about safety.

This is probably the best office I have ever been to for my mental health issues. At first I didnt understand why I had to have so many appointments and assessments just to get started, but I completely get it now. I am getting complete and thorough care, which requires a complete and thorough assessment. My med aprn is fantastic, and worked with me to get back on a proper dosage and has followed me closely ever since. My therapist is so easy to talk to and doesn't expect a breakthrough every session. Sometimes she just lets me ramble which is what I need to put my thoughts in order. Wish I could give yall more than 5 stars.

The least competent medical providers I have ever met, and I have been around a lot of bad ones. Avoid Dr. Sasoon like the plague, or get a second opinion immediately after his. Dr. Sasoon is part of the reason the drug dealers in Arkansas do so well, at least after you visit them for help you don't end up contemplating putting a double-barrel in your own mouth.

Awful! I went inpatient because of med withdrawals (cold turkeyed them) and insomnia that induced psychosis.. I WASNT ABLE TO THINK FOR MYSELF AT ALL AND WAS PRACTICALLY DYING. I stayed up for 13 - 18 days and they did nothing for me. I was going crazy and the PATIENTS had to help me realize that i needed to sleep and eat and shower. I DIDNT SHOWER FOR 18 DAYS DUDE! They did nothing. Then they judged me and talked about me behind my back. I TRIED CALLING FOR HELP WHEN I CAME IN HERE but the intake person kept cutting me off and didnt believe me when i said i have DID(diagnosed) and also insomnia and wasnt able to sleep. THE WORKERS ALSO ALLOWED ME TO GET TOUCHED BY A 60 Y/O (reminder, i couldnt think for myself during this.) they again did nothing!! But they tried to release me early while i was still going thru psychosis! :) i was able to say no, i need to stay (because of a delusion i was having.) AND IF I DIDNT SAY THAT IM PRETTY SURE I WOULDVE DIED. Im not joking, if it wasnt for my DID that allowed me to SURVIVE, i wouldve died inpaitent. They didnt even allow me to take a sleep med (ive been up for over 10 days and they complained i wasnt sleeping- but didnt do anything about it… same with showering… when i realized i needed a shower, they didnt allow me to shower.) the only safety and guidance i had was the paitents themselves…not only that!! I had a seizure and they didnt do anything, they do 10 minute checks by the way… this place made me worse than when i came in. Im thankful for the paitents. I would’ve died without them… i only remember a couple of their names (like Corey and Todd).. but im thankful for EVERY single one of the paitents… the doctors made the psychosis escalate by saying “NO! You are ____ and you go by she/her! You are a GIRL”…. I continued constantly to remind them that i go by male pronouns due to trauma surrounding being called female… and i go by the name Maxwell… but they continued to disrespect me. I couldnt stand up for myself because of my mindstate… but guess what… a paitent stood up for me… i can’t remember their name but… i remember every single time they stood up for me. Another note: a paitent gave me their bible because they noticed i needed help… i still have it till this day… i believe her name is Camile?… idk- i need to get in touch with her so i can thank her and return the bible to her if she wishes. This place i can definitely say, please for your safety, NEVER GO HERE. I wouldnt wish this upon my worse enemies.. please…

I scheduled a consultation appointment online & was sent paperwork via email to complete. Ultimately I was unable to find childcare to attend the appointment, but before I could call to cancel, I received a voicemail. It said that if I didn’t fill out the paperwork immediately, my appointment would be cancelled & I would be charged $100 for a missed appointment. They were just nasty from the start. Threatening to charge not even a client, but a POTENTIAL client for a missed initial appointment, without it ever being made known that was policy, is not nice. Thank god I HADN’T filled out the paperwork- I had never given them my credit card info or permission to run it. So they were threatening to do something they couldn’t even do. Mean girl vibes. No thanks. I’ll take my business somewhere else!

Would never take my sister there again! (2024) The only decent employees there were the social ladies who worked between doctors and families. The young attendants (females) in the Geriatric/Psych unit were very rude and demeaning.

Dr. Beck is a down to earth guy, but expect a very old school approach for therapy. I am very disappointed with this group as they sent collections on me for a bill I paid months prior. During my intial visits only cash was accepted too which was a bit odd to me.

Receptionist doesn't know anything, takes about 3 hours to be attended & when you are in all you discuss is gossip from others that live in the town & the problems aren't solved instead they want to put you in medications so if you are into that go ahead WORST PLACE TO GET MENTAL HELP its stressful & the environment makes my anxiety shoot to the roof.. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER. Been coming here since I was a pre teen & they always change my therapist or can't seem to figure what or how to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Arkansas?
When comparing providers in Arkansas, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Arkansas?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Arkansas?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Arkansas providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Arkansas providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
