100/10 do NOT recommend taking your loved one here.. they will medicate them to the point they have no idea what is going on. To the point they lose control of their body and can't even make decisions for themselves and send them home as "doing good " even though yoh question why they are so lethargic. They seem very uncovered by the fact that our loved one was not the same person we dropped off... fully aware and able to make decisions. They came out worse than when they went in. Then when contacting the "patient advocate" they told us that they would work hard to get to the bottom of it only to be sent a letter stating how right they did everything. I'm sure the patient advocate got paid good for that letter because a patient advocate is just that... an advocate for the patient. In this situation they are all about the facility and its providers. Don't waste your time.on this place. They are under the same umbrella as Valley in Fort Smith and I would have never put my loved one there had I known that! I wish we would have never taken our loved one there as now they have to have 24/7 care where they didn't before.

I would just like to share my experience at this facility. I was never told that they were gonna be children there which is fine. I ended up having fun with them. They are understaffed. The food is horrible. You only get 10 minutes to eat and if you need meds before you eat, you don’t get them. The staff itself is very good, but their procedures are subpar. The rulebook is nothing like what we do, I’m very disappointed and the care I got there. I was supposed to see a doctor once a week. I did not see the doctor but the second day I got there And the day before I left.

Jennifer is wonderful as well as the front desk staff. Today at 2:00 pm I had a therapy appointment with Rickey Etheridge. 2:40 pm rolls around, and I talk to Destiny (a wonderful front desk worker) who had told me she let him know I had been there. I requested to reschedule as I wanted to be home before the rain hit (I dont live in LR) to which I was able. I asked for my money back to which Destiny shared that she would have to talk to her supervisor since I paid in cash, which I totally understand. Once I leave at 2:44 pm I get a call from Alleviant (more specifically Destiny) at 2:51 sharing that Rickey had not known that I was there even though Destiny had told me she alerted him of my arrival. It was said that Rickey didn't see me, but in the waiting room of 2 no one came and called my name. I was asked if I wanted to reschedule with Rickey again to which I expressed I did not, but Destiny told me he was sorry. If I have to give a 24 hour notice if I wont arrive or be charged $50 dollars I would expect similar standards from the therapist. Destiny told me that upon my next appointment I could get my money back.

Very negative experience. After submitting the intake I didn’t hear back from anyone. I waited weeks and finally called to get an appointment scheduled. I took off work to make it and was excited to start working with someone. About 30 minutes before my appt I received an email that it had been rescheduled for a totally different day and time.

Where as I like the doctors the staff that answer the phones usually do not answer. I called at 7:05 because it says they're open and nothing. Sometimes they do answer when they first open, but a lot of time it says they're closed. They either need to adjust hours or actually answer their phones.

this place was horrible, there were rats and roaches and all kinds of bugs crawling around, I personally was there for 6 and a half months, we went outside in the caged fence only 4 times. The staff were hateful and unfair, as were the rules. I have nightmares from this place. Loud noises or people yelling makes me have panic attacks because that’s all this place was. I’m begging do not send your kid here if you do, they won’t ever forgive you for the trauma this place will cause them.

I’m not sure what happened. First day in there and my daughter was calling me to go get her and the nurse suggested we not do that, but instead wait for the therapy team to continue treatment to set her up for success. My daughter called yesterday and I was at work, and then the storm damage rendered us without power and our internet was too unstable to return the call. She calls me today to say Wednesday was her discharge date, but because I didn’t answer the phone or call them back, the nurses are threatening CPS and DHR custody. We’re going tomorrow to pick her up because FTS. They wanted to keep her, then they want to throw her away? That’s BS. Not happy at all since CPS is an organization that’s incentivized to steal kids while denying the parents the right to trial by jury. Been there, done that. Never going back.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel like people should be warned about FSA in North Little Rock, especially Amanda Felhofer, LAC. I had an intake appointment scheduled and ended up needing to reschedule twice. The first time, I was running on no sleep and didn’t feel like I could really participate in the session in a meaningful way. The second time, there was a severe thunderstorm with lightning strikes clearly visible from the freeway, and I had to make sure my daughter got home safely from daycare. I called about 45 minutes before the appointment to reschedule. I was told the new date would be the 25th. Later, I called just to confirm the time, and that’s when I found out Amanda had completely canceled the appointment without telling me. No one called. No voicemail. No email. If I hadn’t checked in, I would have spent the next ten days thinking I had a session coming up, only to be left with nothing. And in mental health care, waitlists for intakes are long everywhere, so now I have to start all over again. To make things worse, the receptionist (who was actually very kind and helpful) told me Amanda said she thought it would be best if I “found another agency.” Seriously? Because I rescheduled twice, one of those times during a dangerous storm while trying to get my child home safe? This was a huge letdown. When you’re reaching out for help, the last thing you need is to be dropped without a word and told to go somewhere else. Amanda showed no compassion, no professionalism, and no basic courtesy. If you’re looking for mental health support, look somewhere else. You deserve better.

The recent Business Development and Assessment & Referral Directors Leadership Training was truly a valuable experience. Directors from each line of business across multiple hospitals came together to collaborate, share best practices, and align on strategies to better support census growth. It was incredibly insightful to hear what’s working well at other facilities and brainstorm on how to implement similar success at our own. This training not only provided tools and ideas, but also strengthened our collective commitment to excellence. A great opportunity for professional growth and team synergy!

I went here to get family counciling And realize very quickly. This is a money making scheme. Because they don't offer group therapy or family therapy. They want to charge each individual insurance. So they are all about the money.I wouldn't go there. Also watch them Very carefully if you do go there because they will call DHS If you have any children with you. Also, the young girl that was doing my intake was smirking the whole time.

Horrible people. Harassed us over our pets that weren’t even on their property, kicked us out in negative degree weather with nowhere else to go. There are some decent staff there but the director Penny and a worker named Belinda wouldn’t leave us alone over our pets even though we already took them off property. Just those two make it not worth staying there. I’d recommend Salvation Army in Fort Smith instead.

My Second appointment I drove from Jacksonville to Behavioral Health in Little Rock, low on money and gas. Went to the Receptionist to check in, she said "your appt was at 9 NOT 10!" I pulled out my appt card and showed it to her, it clearly stated 10. I was visibly upset at wasting my time and limited gas, only to be BLOWN OFF! The Receptionist was clearly annoyed and did NOT CARE at all that Behavioral Health screwed up my appt. I said I would not be back, and she said "okay, that's fine!" Someone should tell this girl that patients PAY HER SALARY!

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Arkansas?
When comparing providers in Arkansas, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Arkansas?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Arkansas?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Arkansas providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Arkansas providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
