Getting help is impossible.
I am so very grateful to the Sunsinw center and it's staff. They went above and beyond to get me to a safe place. So grateful. My case worke shemika is wonderful and my counselor Essence was great. Thanks you to everyone at the center.
Waited 3 months to see Dr Carr for a 5 year old. Said doesn't like to prescribe meds to kids. Did no testing, made an evaluation (un-spoken) and then prescribed 3 months supply of Adderall and said see you in 3 months. What a joke. If all diagnosis are preformed this way the world is in serious trouble. The Dr only cares about getting that Pharma kick back and doping up kids and adults. If care was given then more attention and testing would be performed. I wouldn't send my dog to this Dr. Pay for an hour and get 30 minutes. *update* the office called my wife asking about this honest review. Stated that it looked unprofessional. Then declared our child will need to seek services elsewhere. Lol! Already on that.. wouldn't send my dog to this joke of a dr.
Dr. David D. Schaffer was my psychiatrist for about 3 years or more. He is one of the most humble physicians I have ever been under the treatment of, and I was very impressed that he had also a degree in Pharmacology. His knowledge of the details of the pharmaceuticals he prescribed gave me complete confidence in him. He listened to me thoroughly and without being egotistical when I would share information with him, a rare quality in most doctors. Unfortunately for me, a divorce, and change of insurance caused me to lose access to him. I am shocked and saddened by the legal actions taken against him, and I absolutely do not believe they were justified. They have cost us access to one of the best, and most educated pyschiatrists I have ever been treated by.
The last MMT treatment place I had been a patient at, offered methadone in 2 forms, each at different prices though, one is in a wafer/pill form, the other is a syrup form. Does this location offer the same ?
I’ve been here for 3 days now and I must say, Mrs. Celeste from the front is AMAZING!! She has been a Godsend, and Mrs. Coretta (the nurse), Mrs.cherri and Mrs. Ruth they all have shown me they work as a team and WANT PEOPLE TO STAY SOBER AND COME TO THEIR CLINIC! Sobriety is a journey, NOT a destination! It never ends! Thank you so much ladies!!! Would recommend to anyone and everyone!!
Saved my loved ones life. She went there because she was in crisis and she saw a doctor, adjusted meds, and was discharged in 24 hours with a new lease on life. I can't thank them enough.
I would not recommend this place to no one. I took a friend there and was never told that you have to have your own toilet paper, food and even a bed. You would think that with a intake fee and weekly fee of $240 they would at least provide a bed, food and toilet paper. They only allow one 4 min call a week and visitation is twice a month in the Pell City park. Leave us the same this will probably be taken down and I'm picking up my friend in the morning.
I visited here probably about 6 to7 years ago and had Dr Dixon absolutely no problems wonderful service in and out. I just came back here in 2023 and I am in with the newer doctor whom is Dr minor and met I think her name was Brianna this morning she took Vitals and went all over my medical questions. She was super attentive had a great personality and was just a gem to deal with and very knowledgeable about everything we discussed. They always treat me like an individual always smiling and courteous. They have done lab work every time I have been there and check for everything I mentioned. I highly suggest this office and these doctors.
UPDATE: So, IBH reached out after both my partner and I wrote one star reviews and apologized for their receiptionist's behavior and said they do treat many veterans and wanted to help him. They set him up with an immediate appointment with John, the therapist he originally tried to see but who cancelled his first appintment. He was not optimistic but he went anyway. He actually thought John was pretty good and may be able to help him. So, a second appintment was set for today (one week later). HOWEVER, John cancelled AGAIN on his first real appointment where they were going to begin to discuss EMDR therapy. We were absolutely floored that he would cancel after what happened the first time. So, when they asked if he wanted to reschedule, my partner told them he was done with their office. Our one-star reviews of this place still stand. How can people who choose to work in mental health and who have patients who rely on them for care they desperately need show such little compassion and dedication to them as patients? This is why we have so many mentally ill people in this country. My partner tried to get help at the VA for years. They did nothing for him but send him away with a sticky note that said, "1. God, 2. Me and 3. Everybody and everything else. Pathetic.
I had an appointment set and when I came in the receptionist couldn’t find my appointment. I showed her the paper with my appointment and then I was told it was canceled. I told them I didn’t cancel and apparently it’s because I didn’t answer a phone call. I asked what number do they have and they had written my number down wrong. So now I’m having to reschedule after waiting weeks and leaving work early, which is unacceptable. The receptionist had to schedule my appointment with a different doctor just so I can be seen in a timely manner. Very unprofessional to cancel an appointment over a missed phone call, which I never got. I’m already dealing with a lot and it’s stressful enough as it is setting appointments and going to therapy.

Been seeing miss Karen R Goodwell. She has been very helpful in my battle to process going frim being strong and healthy to chronically I'll. I am a very prideful in nature and didn't want to accept it. A major struggle. She talked to me with lots of care and though behind how to help me cope and learn to live with my new existence.
I cannot praise The Riley Center enough for the incredible work they do with children on the autism spectrum. From the moment you step into their welcoming environment, you can feel the warmth and dedication of the staff.
i am very grateful to the staff at caastar. i was very hopeless when i got there.Threstaff really cares about people that come in . they really helped turn my life around .i went from hopelessness to wanting to live again . iam so grateful for Laura and barbara for spending so much time with me
This place is a JOKE!!! FROM START IT WAS AN ISSUE BECAUSE MARIE AND LESLIE ARE NOT ON THE SAME PAGE AND THEY TELL THE WRONG INFO TO OTHER PATIENTS AND CLINICS AND THEN TRY TO MAKE IT LIKE IT WAS YOU BUT WHEN YOU CALL THEM AND PUT THEM IN SPEAKER FOR PATIENT AND CLINIC TO HEAR WE ASKED EVERY QUESTION NEEDED AND NOW I HAD TO LEAVE BECAUSE THEY WERE SO RUDE TO ME AND MY CLINIC PRIOR THAT I AM NO GOING BACK TO BECAUSE BY THE NURSE AND EVERYONE THERE THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN 👎
This place was really helpful I don’t care what the reviews say I went there and I made a ton of friends we’ve had plenty of activities to do I’ve never had time to do outside of there and the staff were like my best friend they would always be there to talk to me they would tell me good morning when first shift walked in they would always greet you with a smile and nothing bad about you was ever said in there because are supportive and some people have been through what you have or even worse so please if you do go there be kind towards the people around you don’t act like you hate the place find good in it and maybe you’d be on their good side I miss this place and if anything happens again this is where I’ll go

Be honest that place has helped me a lot like it was probably the best place that I went to residential wise and I’ve been to about six residential and laurel oaks one helped me the most. The food was good like the service was good. My therapist was amazing shout out to Miss La Rhonda. The bedrooms were all right, and the staff really helped me so yeah, like I don’t understand all these other bad reviews like this was a really good place in my opinion.
