Horrible place, could tell by the circled number to call for legal help upon entering I just needed to fake my mental illness was getting better to get out. There was no way the doctors and staff were competent to treat me at Columbus springs. Staying at this facility left my mental problems worse than when I arrived. They didn't know that it was easy to fake I was doing better the incompetent staff believed me. I quickly changed from wanting to get better to wanting to get out of that place. Worse than Jail.

This isn't a place you wanna go for mental health treatment. They have the absolute worst therapists imaginable. Think of breaking down at a session and being made feel bad and gross for it with a therapist that just doesn't care. They then tried to make it where our sessions would be over the phone so they wouldn't have to see me again. Then they asked to see me soon a couple months from that day. After the session I left quickly and I swear I'll never go to that awful place again. They most definitely judge you for your past and who you are. God forbid you have any real issues I promise you, you will not get the help you need. Do yourself a favor if you have mental health issues please go somewhere where the people actually care to help you.

The therapist Monica was very kind and understanding. I came because I was having issues with sleep and depression. However the psychiatrist Temi tried to diagnose me with bipolar disorder despite never having a history of manic episodes. Whem I tried to ask how I could have bipolar without manic episodes she tried to claim you can have bipolar and only ever experience depression which is simply not true. I saw a sleep specialist and it turns out I actually have sleep apnea which was the cause of my insomnia.

This will be the biggest waste of your time and money if you even attempt to work with this provider. I have been on a wild goose chase for months now trying to get the medication I need to make the quality of my life still livable. They promis flexible schedules and refused to see me at any other date than the one provided. After stating my availability and missing the improperly scheduled appointment they refused to answer a call and any time I got through to them they hung up on me. Save your money and your child and please choose a different counseling office or provider.

The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because of the counselor I’ve seen there. She genuinely seems to care. However, if you need medication, this is not the place. I’ve had three nurse practitioners quit without telling me so they just cancel my appointment and I run out of medication. Then you haven’t been medicated for weeks and they put you on something you’ve been on already multiple times. I’m on my fourth nurse practitioner now and none seem to care about what you think at all. They’re always right. Plus no one answers the phone for literally anything.

If you want random appointments thrown at you two days in advance with no option to reschedule and like waiting around for an hour to talk to three different people and take a drug test before they will give you your medications then this is the place to go. Hope you like being late for work all the time. Also, hope you enjoy your Dr being hours late to your appointments, leaving you staring at a video call waiting for them to join the whole time. Only redeeming quality is how nice the people in the pharmacy are. That is it.

I was able to cope with my issues & happy to SLOWLY ween off of a medication that is now considered addictive (after 25 years of being on it). The nurse practitioner that I've been trusting with my care has recently decreased that medication drastically after agreeing to the SLOW decrease, causing severe withdrawal. Do not recommend VCS nurse practitioner here if you value sanity and trust!!

I am submitting this complaint because what occurred under Brianna’s care was not only unprofessional — it was cruel, negligent, and inhumane. I was originally told that my stay would only be for a couple of days. Once I had sobered up, I was suddenly informed that they were attempting to keep me for seven days instead. This was especially distressing because my son’s birthday was approaching — an event I had already spent hundreds of dollars preparing for. What was presented to me as a short stay quickly turned into a forced extension without regard for my life outside of that facility. I was informed that I would be given my personal belongings, including my keys, in order to go home. However, Brianna — who is nursing staff and does not handle housing decisions — made the decision to withhold my keys anyway. This overstep directly prevented me from leaving and caused additional distress and confusion. Most alarming of all was Brianna’s behavior toward my roommate. She allowed my roommate to be heavily overmedicated. As a result, my roommate fell and hit her head three separate times on a hard concrete floor. While this occurred, Brianna stood by and laughed. I was not present at the exact moment my roommate first hit her head. What I know is based on what she later told me and what I personally witnessed afterward. She described being humiliated, dismissed, and treated as if her suffering was a joke. That — combined with being medicated beyond safety — places what happened far beyond simple negligence and into reckless disregard for human life. If you are a facility that claims to stand for care, safety, and accountability, then what happened here directly contradicts every one of those principles. If you are looking for empathy, sympathy, or humanity — this is not the place. This complaint is submitted not out of emotion, but out of necessity. What happened should never be allowed to happen again to anyone.

Visitors shouldn’t be using the bathrooms at this facility. I was in to see a family member recently and I saw someone I recognized that works there. His name is Terry and he was my friends old manager. He got in trouble for recording people using the bathroom where they used to work. He has voyerism charges and somehow is the OPERATIONS MANAGER. Literally he’s the guy who sets up the cameras and reviews the footage. I have no idea how he was able to get that job, but if I was a female that worked with him I’d feel incredibly uncomfortable. All of this is public information in the local municipality.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Ohio?
When comparing providers in Ohio, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Ohio?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Ohio?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Ohio providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Ohio providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
