Two stars only because they tried to get me an appointment sooner then others. Unfortunately I was given the wrong address to their office by the staff I talked to. Since I used a ride service to get there, I was stranded at an abandoned building. So that's a red flag. If your staff doesn't know the address I can only imagine what kind of so called help I would have received. Good luck to any who decide this place is their best option

I had been at hometown for a year and was about to graduate, never missed a group, never missed a service, and never failed a drug screen, and after being there 12 months i had gotten my home and a job and couldnt get a copleation from them for nothing, but they were quick to hit me with a discharge, with no explanation or anything... that's got too be the most unproffessional place or anything ive ever dealt with

The receptionist is super rude and if it's a question that she doesn't want to answer or even ask for more information, she just hangs up on you. This is the second time she has hung up on me and it's very unprofessional. The office manager needs to hire a more willing and friendly person to answer calls.

Just unhappy about their communication skills. They told me they can do zoom appointments. I called to see if I can do zoom and they penalized me as a no show. Then another time I showed up and my therapist wasn’t there. They said they tried contacting me but I told them email was my preferred method of communication. So I drove a half an hour for no reason. So because of that I was late again for an appointment because there was a problem with the bank and I couldn’t afford gas. I know I will be penalized for that again and will lose therapy services. It’s NYAP’s fault in Columbus Ohio for setting me up with them because the whole time working with their care management program they NEVER helped with gas!!!

At first I thought this company was amazing. I was assigned an amazing therapist and case manager and my life improved significantly. My first issue was with one of the psychiatrists who refused to listen to my concerns about a medication I was on. I was given a new psychiatrist and all seemed to be fine. Life happened and I ended up moving into their residential program. This was a major mistake. I moved in Dec '22 and am being evicted May '23. I made my concerns known that I struggle with activities of daily living and get extremely overwhelmed at jobs. I was assured I would receive assistance taking care of myself and finding a job that I could handle. I did not receive the help I was promised. Not only that, but I was left out of nearly every meal because of my special diet. I ended up losing quite a bit of weight because of how many meals I skipped. I have an eating disorder as well that they were aware of so I should not have been allowed to skip meals period. I wish that was the only issue I experienced. There are major staffing issues at this company. The management team and employees all have issues. Most of the employees are great, but there have been some extremely sour apples that took way too long to handle. In the house I was staying in the house manager was a nightmare. They were extremely abusive emotionally and verbally. If I didn't stand up for my roommates and write a grievance I don't know what would have happened. I had to write a second grievance for another employee who started acting the same as the previous house manager. They started acting like they were in charge and treated us like children. The clients complained about this staff member for months and nothing was done about it until they were caught talking to one of the residents as they always did while on the phone with their boss. We celebrated when they were fired. Simply put, this company has some major issues and has a lot of improvement that needs to happen. They do not care enough about their clients or even their staff. I do not recommend this company for mental health treatment or even as a place of work. Some of our favorite staff members ended up quitting because they were being treated unfairly and I do not blame them in the slightest for leaving. Save your sanity and your tears and go somewhere else. You will be thankful you did.

Thought this was going to be a great experience to give back to the community. Unfortunately the lack of communication and complete lack of transparency and integrity have made us not want to continue with this company. There is no accountability within the organization and you can tell this is a FOR profit only company. Others in the training classes that did not deal with the Dayton office praised the counselors and the staff. It’s too bad we didn’t live in a different county as we didn’t have that experience.

I see Tanya Fox as a psych NP at Ravenwood, and she is a complete godsend. She spent so much time and effort with me to reach a diagnosis, when I first showed up a year ago feeling upset and uncertain about everything. She is very patient, sympathetic, and reassuring. She’s great at listening to you and adapting to your concerns. She does a wonderful job at answering your questions and making sure you feel good about your treatment plan. She’s very welcoming, approachable, and available. She clearly is very knowledgeable and has well-thought-out Plan A’s, Plan B’s, (etc. as needed) so you can always stay hopeful. I just cannot say enough nice things about her. I’m so glad I found her.

for a place that offers victims advocate, you would think they would do better. they canceled every appointment i make, and the moment i forget an appointment was scheduled they fell off the radar. it’s hard enough for some people to reach out for help, and if this was the treatment they got, they aren’t going to want to ever reach out again.

You can have a whole appointment and they will take you back 2 hours later. The men assume everything about a females body so you have to correct them multiple times. The pharmacy said they'd be open and then show up to find out they were closed. How do you work there and not know your hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Ohio?
When comparing providers in Ohio, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Ohio?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Ohio?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Ohio providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Ohio providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
