I had a very disappointing experience with Anam Mohiuddin. I had an appointment scheduled, but she was running significantly late (20 minutes). Although the office notified me of the delay, I was unable to wait because I had another commitment. During a follow up call, the missed appointment was brought up multiple times, which felt inappropriate given the circumstances. My primary reason for the appointment was to discuss tapering off a medication due to concerns about side effects, including excessive sleep and cognitive difficulties. When I expressed concern about waiting longer to begin a taper, I felt dismissed rather than heard. Rather than focusing on my concerns, the conversation felt defensive and confrontational. The conversation became increasingly tense, and I left feeling unsupported and frustrated. Patients deserve to feel listened to when discussing medication concerns, especially when those concerns affect their quality of life. Unfortunately, I did not feel that happened during my experience. What stood out most was that the conversation focused more on the missed appointment and the fact that the call was taking place after hours than on the side effects and concerns that prompted me to seek help in the first place.
