My 10 yo son with several mental health disorders that require med management for him to succeed/function on a day to day basis, he is due for refills that his stepmom (50/50 custody) had to schedule an appt for last month (21st) She scheduled and forgot to tell me. It happens people are human and we both have ADHD ourselves. I never received an appt notification in the my chart app that it was scheduled nor any reminders either. In addition to that, stepmom called and had them refill a night med he takes the day after the "missed appt" and never said anything to her about it. Fast forward to today, I try yo refill meds and his nurse says nop not until you bring him in office. I try to explain the situation, she couldn't care less. I told her he can't make it through school without them and one is a mood stabilizer that's an extended release anti seizure drug that CANNOT be abruptly stopped. She then proceeded to argue that they don't fill any meds except his controlled substance for ADHD, I was literally staring at the bottle with the Dr's name on it from last month just completely baffled at the lack of competency when she says " oh it looks like he just had refills on file for those" 🥴 So my son will go through sudden withdrawals, miss his education, and possibly end up in the ER because their office has no compassion for their clients and their clients caretakers (who often suffer from the same genetic disorders) who are trying their best to help their children in a broken system. I know because ive worked in it for the past 21 years, but I'll be sure to give his school the Psych office number to be calling until Next Tuesday and defering any hospital bills to them, not to mention the missed work. I'm appalled with this place.
