Turning Winds saved our daughter’s life! The program staff were amazing and patient with her as she navigated her recovery. She felt heard and seen as a person not a problem. The program helped her gain self confidence and learn responsibility and accountability. It also helped her learn to navigate social relationships in a healthy way. Turning Winds was the first treatment program that when things got hard for my daughter they did not give up on her. They treated her like family. Without this program I don’t know where my daughter would be. I will be forever grateful for the relationships she gained through this program and the hope that has been restored in our family.

Loved living here the staff were amazing and for once I was allowed to act my age and do things like concerts and going on dates. I didn't need to live in fear while I was there. They were an amazing support group both the kids and staff when my grandpa died. I honestly believe that being there was the best time of my life. I had never had the freedom in my life to be a kid till I was there. Would recommend them to family and friends.

Nancy was hired by the courts to be the visitor in our guardianship case. She preformed a zoom call meeting with my husband and I. I could tell she was taking notes, which I appreciated. She then typed the notes up and emailed them to me to look over. She got a lot wrong so I edited it accordingly, trying not to add anything she didn’t have written down. I sent it back to her thinking she would complete it in a professional manner. When she submitted her report to the courts it sounded like a child wrote it. I was so disappointed I called her to ask how this is possible. Apparently, she expected me to write my own report. Nancy Smith was not worth the $10,000+ that was spent on her services. I would NOT recommend her to anyone in the future.

Embark Behavioral Health at Marion Montana was a Godsend! Our son had been in and out of mental health facilities over the past several years only to end up needing intensive mental health care again. However, his time at Embark bought healing and helped to set him on the road to recovery. The staff demonstrated grace, patience, empathy, compassion and love as tbey worked with him and my wife and I to help him experince genuine healing. We are truly grateful and thankful to God for using the gifts and talents of the Embark team. We can't say enough good things and we highly recommend their services!

I had been in and out of psychiatrist offices since I was 18 and Wade Hill was the FIRST to ever truly show me he CARED. I have never felt so safe and listened to by a medical professional, and he was the first person to give me a diagnosis/medicine plan that ACTUALLY WORKED. He also was so educational and taught me about what was going on in my head/body rather than just throwing meds onto me. He also provided multiple resources for other areas of my life, helped me find a therapist, and when I moved states helped me through that transition/set me up for success. Now that I am back in the state, there's no one else I would rather see/risk seeing. I have an appointment today and I am SO excited. I cannot recommend him enough and his front desk help is just as kind and caring and wonderful. There's even a set up for if you have young children. Literally the best in the business.

My son graduated from Rising Peak Academy and High School 6 weeks ago. Hands down RPA saved my family and my son's life. The Brekke family have been helping adolescents with addiction for over 3 decades. They know their stuff and hired the best - from the counselors to his teacher to the cook and the night staff. These people genuinely care for the boys and are amazing surrogate parents in our absence. They worked the AA 12 step program that my son started at Wilderness Treatment Center. My son will tell you that if you are serious about recovery, you need a program that subscribes to the 12 steps.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should I compare mental health providers in Montana?
When comparing providers in Montana, consider location relative to where you live or work, the specific services offered, levels of care available (such as outpatient, intensive outpatient, or inpatient), therapy approaches used, conditions treated, hours of operation, whether a website is available, accreditation status, and reviews when listed. Not all details are available for every provider, so it can help to check each facility listing directly.
What should I ask before contacting a provider in Montana?
Before reaching out to a provider, it helps to know what you are looking for. Consider asking about current appointment availability, accepted insurance plans and self-pay or sliding-scale options, whether telehealth appointments are offered, which specific services are currently active, and whether the provider has experience treating your particular concern. Availability and services can change, so confirming details directly with the facility is recommended.
Are all services listed on Mental Health US available at every facility?
No. Services vary by facility and may change over time. The information shown in each listing reflects what was available when the record was created or last updated. Always confirm current service availability, hours, and intake procedures directly with the provider before visiting or calling.
Can I find both mental health and substance use treatment providers in Montana?
Yes. Mental Health US includes Montana providers that offer mental health services, substance use treatment, or both. You can use the available filters to narrow results by treatment needs, or review individual facility pages for more detailed information about the services and conditions each provider treats.
What if I cannot find the right provider in my city?
If you do not find a suitable provider in a specific city, try broadening your search by browsing all Montana providers using the statewide view, or use the filter dropdowns to search by condition treated, therapy type, or level of care without entering a specific city. You can also browse nearby city pages to see providers in surrounding communities.
