When I first started receiving services from the Family Guidance Center, my case worker informed me that they offer therapy, but then I ended up receiving counseling instead. And just to be clear, therapy is NOT the same thing as counseling. Therapy is long-term whereas counseling is short-term, and it baffles me that this place cannot tell the difference. Besides, their in-person "therapist" was being a narcissist and a hypocrit towards me and was being indirect and unclear in his questions he asked me. And regarding the person who is in charge of approving or denying "therapist" changes, it is clear that she only cares about the business and not the clients too. That is essentially the true definition of a disservice. I'm lucky she was perfectly willing to recommend elsewhere so I can see an actual therapist, one who offers long-term therapy. Now I'm not done. She also mentioned that me seeing my case worker technically was my long-term therapy. How is it supposed to feel like actual therapy when I'm sitting in front of a desk and talking to my case worker like she's my boss at work or something? That is so misleading on so many levels. Bottom line, the only good thing about this place is the psychiatrist who is outstanding by the way. Literally everything else about this place sucks though.
