I’ve been involved with them for around 5 years. In the recent months I’ve had nothing but major problems. A new foster worker monthly, and adoption workers are being caught in lies. Feel as I can’t trust this place anymore after 5 years. Which is really sad. A child’s life is in its hands not toys. Wondering how to contact the main director at this point.

Called looking to get in as a new patient and after a 15 minute phone call I was denied services because I “wasn’t in crisis” and they didn’t feel what I was going through considered an emergency. Good to know we have this wonderful clinic telling us what we’re going through isn’t serious enough to be seen. I was fortunate enough to get into another clinic that’s actually taking my mental health seriously.
Awful experience. Intake staff is extremely unprofessional, residential staff is extremely unprofessional. Going there was the biggest mistake. There is ONE group a day and facilitator of the group is incoherent. Then the rest of the day you just lay around and watch tv. You’d be lucky the see your counselor even once. There is no recovery here. No groups, the therapy, they don’t even teach people about the 12 step program or other recovery programs such as Dharma or smart recovery. If you are looking for somewhere to get educated about learn about addiction this is NOT the place.
Dr. Barbara Fisher had her license suspended for 18 months in May of 2007 for violating Michigan Public Health Code 16221(a), 16221(b)(i), and 16221(b)(vi).
Made an appointment for IN person. 3 confirmation texts days prior no worries. Day of appointment changes to ZOOM an hour before the appointment time. I talked to these people 2x before this when scheduling to ensure we had an IN PERSON appointment. When I called to see what happened I was forwarded to the therapist and no answer. Left a message and they just canceled the appointment instead of calling and figuring out a way to fix it. After the canceled text then they call "Oh we can reschedule" hell no I took time off work, took my kid out of school and talked to you people 2x before this I will NOT use this group ever now. Unorganized, can't give right info, and can't make the proper appointments.

So the receptionist was nice! As far as the care I wouldn’t know seeing as how the doctor was late coming in and had the nerve to stop and watch the television while patients were waiting. lol I went in for an appointment and left at 2 hours later without being seen.

It has been six years since I was a client and recently I tried to go back here for methadone treatment and they denied me. I've never been discharged from Sacred Heart for violence or assault I've never been in trouble at Sacred Heart. They let a girl who put a substance in another clients drink when they weren't looking during group and she's dosing there after being discharged over it. What has my 89 lbs going to do to anyone anyway. I'm in the process of filing a grievance over this and have received my records that show no disruptive behavior and show that I participate in the program. So WHY CAN'T I GET LIFESAVING MEDICINE THAT I CHOOSE? There shouldn't even be a problem.
This place is a joke they constantly argue with you on everything. They violate HIPPA laws and on top of that they charge insurance and you don't get what your insurance pays for. Food is bad they get donated food then charge insurance for it they claim non profit. There isn't enough staff. When I was there was at least four deaths since September to February this place doesn't care you get no privacy you definitely don't get your calorie count your suppose to get. But yet they are non profit. Some staff cares but when they speak up for you the admins turn around and blame you. I do not recommend coming here if your trying to help your recovery.
They were very helpful. Most places have a long or inaccessible waiting list for mental healthcare. They were able to intake me within about 2 weeks compared to the 6 months to a year of private practices.

I attempted to contact this office numerous times and left my information to call me back 3 times over a three week period with no return call. After calling a few more times I finally got ahold of a gentleman who acted like I was interrupting his lunch and said there’s nothing I can do you for and pushed me off to a website. Not a “ hey lets set you up for an appointment “ or “ let me dig into this for you and see what i can find out for you” . I felt like I was an insignificant caller . I am a disabled retired Army veteran.

I've been going for a few years and both counselors I have seen are great. They really care and are willing to go above and beyond. Both have been available after hours if I needed it. Faith is very caring, knowlegable, and prompt with refill requests. The front office staff is always friendly and helpful. Individual experiences will obviously vary, but I have not experienced anything that is remotely like what you see in the negative reviews.
Staff at mental health Access North is terrible, expected me to know who I was seeing even though they did not and can not know the information until intake, the help at the front desk was very rude and the operator who answered refused to give me his name to complain about them( I found out their names are crystal and Nick) apparently. They lack empathy and compassion and the social skills required to communicate with people that have special needs.
Always clean, staff wears masks, hand sanitizer is readily available. Never a long wait. I love that this is a hybrid clinic with a pharmacy that I can just go to around the corner and get stitched up quickly from a cooking accident. Dr. Ulinfun, is a community asset. I really appreciate when successful Black people decide to invest in community development. A healthy community is a strong community.
This place saved my life. I really don’t think I’d be able to get through the last year without my therapist. Getting into a routine with therapy is so difficult, and he stuck with me through multiple cancelations and reschedules sessions in the beginning of my journey. Recently I sought out comprehensive mental health testing through one of the psychiatrists and she was wonderful as well. It was overall a pleasant experience and she took the time and care to sit with me to understand my test results. I can see myself being here for a long time. I personally do telehealth which is perfect for my busy schedule as a full-time employee and student.
Left a voicemail for Amy twice asking questions about a medication since the nurse at the Grayling location was on vacation. Never recieved a call back. Ive been going to the grayling location for 5 years even though HL is closer to home. I started going there after I was treated terribly by the therapist I was seeing. Filed a complaint on her it was so bad. Grayling has been amazing. They seem to actually care about their patients.

In November 2025 I called a left a voicemail to schedule a appointment for my son. I didn't hear anything so I followed up and left another voicemail a few weeks later. Someone did call me back and took my insurance information. After that I waited for another call to schedule the appointment but never got one. So, In Jan 2026 I called and left another voicemail and someone did call me back. I was transferred to intake who asked me some questions about my son, then I was transferred to another person who asked some questions about my son and then I was transferred to a voicemail. I called back and spoke to the operator and explained my situation and she sent a email out. That was a couple days ago and I haven't heard back from anyone. First, I want to say that every person I spoke to especially that last one was very kind and helpful however at the end of the day I still haven't made a appointment for my son. I have been trying since November 2025 and have talked to a bunch of people just to schedule a appointment. That's unacceptable. I am no longer interested in services from this organization even if they call me back. UPDATE the following week they called me back and left a message to add me to a waiting list. Lol! No, thank you. We moved on.

I agree with a lot of the reviews that the therapists are wonderful, reception wonderful, nurses wonderful but the psych dr lowkey sucked but I’m getting a new one so maybe she’ll be better than the last. Also I know insurance is the main reason for this but it sucks that I can’t always get in weekly bc Medicaid doesn’t think I need that 😒
