Dr Kumar is an excellent physician with comprehensive knowledge of the medications relevent to emotional distress and mental illness. I feel very well cared for since he was recommended to me by my family practice doctor at UCLA Health. He’s a good listener and has always explained everything clearly.

Dr. Duel is the best psychiatrist I’ve ever worked with. I’ve worked with many in Los Angeles but actually takes the time to listen and go over all issues holistically. His medication recommendations set me on a great trajectory forward. His staff was helpful and very responsive. Rare to get people on the phone these days but the PsychBright staff are helpful and responsive. I feel comfortable knowing I’m under his and his team’s care.

I have found a wonderful psychiatrist, and my experience has been nothing short of exceptional. From the very first appointment, she has made me feel comfortable and understood. She takes the time to listen to me and provides thoughtful insights and exceptional care. They provide a modern approach with an online intake process with a friendly front office to address any in-person questions you might have. Would definitely point anyone needing psychiatric care here.

Handsome Nerd

He's fantastic! Very knowledgeable and caring, understanding, and non-judgmental. In my experience, he's excellent at working with you to identify root causes of anxiety and stress and helping you plan a healthy and reasonable path toward managing and overcoming those obstacles. He helps you become empowered. He also makes speaking with him very enjoyable and non-threatening. Most of the time, I'm actually a little bummed when the session is over because I'm having fun. My path with him has taken a few turns: started out with trying to tackle a specific phobia (flying) and has pivoted to managing emotions associated with loss, getting older, and letting go of things that no longer positively impact my life. In every stage, his help has been great and exactly what I need. Talk with him about once a month, but that's just what feels right for me. Can't over-state how helpful he is.

Launch Centers is a wonderful place for young people needing assistance, launching them into transitioning from adolescents to young adults. If the concern is mental health, addiction, or dual diagnosis, their team, starting from your first intake call with Clint, to the front office, Charlotte, already sets the tone for a warm, caring, and well-trained staff. Jess is very intuitive and involved, Steph helps ease your financial anxieties, and once you meet the clinical team, you know your child is in good hands. All the therapists I have interacted with were significantly vested in my children's mental and emotional success. I have worked with Amanda, Jake, Chloe, and Nancy, and they treated us with compassion and endless care. I am grateful that my children's lives have changed because they went through the PHP and IOP programs at Launch.

If you want to Get the tools you need to change your life and better yourself, the please come to the Youth and Family Institute. DBT changed my life. I always thought of therapy as a bit of a joke until this. After just 3 months of DBT I started feeling lighter to the point where my friends and family noticed and pointed it out. I got the validation I needed, plus insights to challenge myself and get healthier, in body and mind. Marcus was incredibly wise, kind, open-minded, patient and I always felt validated no matter how trivial my problem seemed to me.

I cannot say enough good things about this detox facility and the impact it had on my life. Walking in, I was scared, exhausted, and honestly unsure if I even wanted to be there. From the moment I arrived, the staff treated me with dignity, compassion, and zero judgment. That alone made a huge difference. The medical team was incredibly attentive and professional. Detox is not easy — physically or mentally — but they monitored me closely, managed my withdrawal symptoms safely, and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. They explained everything clearly so I knew what was happening with my body, which helped reduce a lot of my anxiety. The nursing staff and techs were patient, kind, and always available. No matter what time of day it was, someone was there to listen or help. They didn’t just treat the addiction; they treated me like a human being who mattered. That kind of care is rare and meaningful. The counselors and group facilitators were knowledgeable and genuinely invested including heather, Jp, Ramon, Ollie, Kayla, Sina, Rafa, and Jessica .The groups were structured, supportive, and eye-opening. I learned about the root causes of addiction, coping skills, relapse prevention, and how to start rebuilding my life. I didn’t feel like just another number — I felt seen. The facility itself was clean, organized, and safe. Having a stable and calm environment made it easier to focus on healing. Meals were consistent, and the routine helped bring structure back into my life. Most importantly, this place gave me hope when I didn’t have any left. Detox is just the first step in recovery, but it’s a critical one — and this facility made that step possible for me. If you or a loved one are struggling and need a safe place to begin, I would strongly recommend this program. I’m grateful for the care, professionalism, and humanity shown here. It truly made a difference in my recovery journey.

I wouldn’t really know where to begin.. I spent years trying to get sober. This place gave me the time and space to figure it out. They housed me and spent 7 months with me helping me learn how to beat my addictions. Darrell taught me faith, humility, and how to let go of fear. That man is a hero and a Legend in the city of LA, a real preacher. He never stopped checking in on me or believing in me, will always be a father figure to me. Sophie taught me how to grieve and how to find strength in vulnerability.. And how to let go of a lot of walls. Brigitte taught me about trauma, how my childhood affected me/inner child work, attachment styles, and helped me take a real hard deep look at my shame, my behavior and my attitude. She also helped me find a life path. I’ve had over 6 therapists in my life, and she’s the only one that’s ever got through to me. Chris showed me what real friendship could look like when you take off all the masks, and how to be yourself. Jane is special, her positivity and kindness always helped me in the hard days. But most importantly this place taught me that it was me who showed up and me who put the work in.. They taught me what self-worth is and self-esteem is. When I showed up I hated myself, and now I have belief in myself. I’m not the same person I was 7 months ago, and I am sober.

I would like to start off by saying a big thank you to the team over at Lifescape Recovery. I am so appreciative of the experience, never thought I could get this form of therapy/treatment for myself. I always felt somatic therapy and psychoeducation was beyond my own means especially in a treatment program that includes yoga, acupuncture, sound bath, and breath-work all under one roof. Especially for someone that comes from a low income background. I am so grateful for my immediate care team in addition to the group facilitators, intake, and tech teams. I came into this program feeling at my lowest, my rock bottom, broken, felt resistant, nervous, scared, skeptical, and beyond-repair even—but hung onto the notion that deep down inside there was some greater reason why I found myself at Lifescape. That curiosity allowed me to realize the following:

My first experience in PHP/IOP after years of mental disorder. Staff—clinical and management—were all very kind and I find my time here very productive towards my improving my health and outlook on life. Staff were also very accommodating to my turbulent schedule, considering I was in multiple interview pipelines at the time I was a patient. I only give four stars because some of the group facilitators are not very effective (only two that I can think of. I enjoyed the rest). Thanks Mission Harbor!

i can’t tell you about the actual effectiveness of the ketamine infusions, i just finished my last infusion last week and ive yet to notice any significant differences but was told some people are just late responders. i just wanted to shoutout Nurse Victoria, she was so amazingly kind and compassionate and she helped me a lot when i got upset or needed reassurance. the psychologist jeff? not so much, wasn’t a fan of him. but nurse victoria deserves all her flowers, she’s genuinely amazing!
