Stand Together and Recover Centers (S.T.A.R.) is a nonprofit behavioral health facility located at 1310 West University Drive in Mesa, Arizona. Established in 1985, S.T.A.R. was Arizona’s first peer recovery agency for behavioral health recipients. The center’s mission is to help individuals live meaningful lives by providing tools to enhance employment, social connections, and overall wellness. With a strong focus on peer support and community engagement, S.T.A.R. offers a welcoming and stigma-free environment for individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges.
At the Mesa location, clients can access a wide array of outpatient services including individual and group therapy, counseling, and life skills training. Specialized programs such as the Young Adult Program, peer discharge care coordination, and arts and crafts therapy help members build coping strategies, social skills, and independence. Through vocational training, nutrition and wellness support, and community engagement initiatives, S.T.A.R. empowers members to achieve personal growth while strengthening natural and community-based support systems.
