Not sure why people are hating. I’ve always found the front desk staff very kind and helpful as well as the Pros program and other clinical staff. They’re quick with medication refills and setting up or changing appointments as needed. Best of all, they actually answer the phone when I’ve called.

When I was inpatient for 2 weeks in October 2025, I thought the place was incredibly helpful- until the end of my stay. The psychiatrist diagnosed me as bipolar right at my admission. This inaccurate diagnosis (confirmed by multiple therapists and psychiatrists) did extreme harm to me. I was off my meds when I went, and instead of getting me back on my old doses that worked for me, they increased the meds until I was over-medicated (due to the “bipolar”) and then intended to discharge me with no aftercare. I had to advocate for myself to be discharged into a virtual IOP. This was the most they would refer me to. With a medication they increased two days before my discharge, I had an adverse reaction. I became debilitatingly depressed and obsessively suicidal. I was in a state worse than my admission. My IOP, unaffiliated with Four Winds, was refusing to get me in with a psychiatrist and was not properly supporting me. So, I reached out to Four Winds PHP for extra support. I explained my situation, and that I was not going to act on any impulses but needed the higher level of care. They not only denied me, they also had my inpatient therapist directly call me to berate me (Shelby). Then, they called my inpatient emergency contact to say I was “in immediate crisis”. My parents, who already knew everything that was going on, were incredibly panicked thinking something that was NOT happening was happening. And as I was no longer their patient, I wonder if this violated HIPAA. Mind you, I’m an adult. Because my unaffiliated IOP was failing me (Charlie Health), I had to stop taking my meds again for my own safety. This was about 3 weeks post discharge. But as this created its own set of issues, I ended up calling Four Winds back and asking to do an intake to go back into inpatient. They told me “We are not the right fit for you, find a different hospital.” So after overmedicating me, not discharging me into adequate support, berating me, and violating my confidentially, they denied me the care I desperately needed. It was extremely disheartening. I’m sad to say this awful place is probably one of the best facilities in the area. I only recovered because I traveled to Maryland for mental health care. It’s truly a shame.
