The Meadows Outpatient Center in Atlanta is amazing and my experience went well above and beyond my expectations. Marie, the director, has created a climate in which the patients feel safe, seen and supported by the entire staff. They work together seamlessly to help the patients reach their treatment goals with compassion and dignity, meeting each individual where they are without judgement. I was gently pushed to rise above the fear and the shame to deal with issues I have been avoiding for years, and I am sure I have learned lessons to last a lifetime. I highly recommend the Meadow Outpatient Center in Atlanta to anyone looking for comprehensive quality mental health care.

I have waited a few months before I would write this review. My daughter Rachel was in residency here she has borderline personality disorder and she struggled so much with it she attempted suicide several times last time it almost took her life. She is in a good home and dealing with this as a parent is hard because you want to help your child but you don't know how. This place has helped my child tremendously Certoya was Awesome all the staff there communicated great considering we live 2 1/2 hours from there it was a blessing knowing she was in good hands.I am forever grateful for the staff and the program that helped my daughter with coping skills. I'm glad to say she is a straight A student graduates in May and I never thought that was possible in the shape she was in. My daughter is my life and she is living it now thanks to Hillside.

I was at this program when it first hit ground in 2000 in Stone Mountain/Clarkston Ga. Right Side Up was the best thing that happened to me. I wasn’t able to bring all 5 of my kids my 2 oldest was with my dad and Aunt. I was able to bond with them every other weekend. Right Side Up taught me A lot about my addiction. I had been struggling with crack cocaine for 14 years, I’m so grateful for this program because I would not be who I am today and that’s Free From Drugs and Alcohol. I have not heard from anyone since I completed the program. I do hope all is well.

My loved one has only been there 24 hours so far and they are pretty uncomfortable there. I gave the 2nd star because at least the nurses I speak to in their unit answer my questions when I call, but everyone else I’ve spoken to have been cold and curt. I was told the initial visit with the psych provider was very short and did not listen to the patient about what has worked and what hasn’t in the past for their condition. And it took more than 12 hours for my loved one to actually see the provider, so they were left unmedicated for way too long. I hope the experience improves, but so far I would not refer anyone to this facility.

Extremely late for appointments booked way in advance. I mean upwards 30 - 45 minutes and multiple appointments. Charged me for a visit I was dismissed from after 2 minutes of speaking with him and 30 minutes of waiting. Apparently because I didn’t consult with my other doctor about a medication that I was never told to consult with. Why prescribe the medication in the first place if there where doubts? Assistant was nice and professional but not the doctor. Don’t waste your time and money. Thank you Mr. Owens for pushing me to find better care, because I did.

Department of family children services pay these people to give parents evaluations. I think if parents can't afford there own doctor then let a children protective services pay with there doctors working for them and when you go to court then there doctor will determine if you a fit parents.

Coming into this program was exciting and I was willing to get better. The first couple of weeks were amazing, I made good friends in the residental and was working hard on change. Soon getting to go to transitional my mental illness and impulsive behaviors cameback. I expressed to my team that I'd like to see my therapist more then once a week (they told me it wasnt possible) and that the classes are good information and applicable to real life though not for people who don't struggle with interactions with the real world. I was disappointed by the way they ran the program.

Skyland Trail was one of the best things that happened to me. Before Skyland, I barely knew how to cope because of not so great therapists. I was deep into my depression and only going deeper. My psychiatrist recommended Skyland and I’m so grateful for that. I was taught CBT and DBT and was in a great healing environment. Having a whole treatment team to support me really helped me thrive. Having family therapy with Elizabeth helped me better my communication with my parents and made me feel more confident that I would thrive outside of Skyland. Mrs.Laura was very supportive and helpful when it came to school. She always made sure we were on track, as it is easy to get behind. The staff were always supportive and kind to me. Some of my favorite things there included healthy challenge with Kevin and horticulture with Marisol. I had a really good time with the recreational activities that we did with Dani and Laney. When I left Skyland Trail, I felt like a different person than when I arrived. I will forever be grateful for all Skyland Trail did for me.

It is approximately 8:11AM and can’t even reach anyone at the behavioral health center to reschedule an appointment that was made yet left unvisited the day of my appointment by the physician. I battle with social anxiety and struggle immensely sitting in the waiting room, as you’ve heard and/or experienced the horror stories of rude staff. I sat on my virtual call and waited patiently for a physician to join the call and waited for over 2 hours just to find out in the end that no one was going to attend despite getting an alert that my physician was running late and would be attending shortly. I tried calling while waiting for a physician and was placed on hold for over an hour… Just to find out that they were closed. You literally cannot make this up. I’m expected to show up virtually and/or physically to receive care and no matter which is being done it ends up being a waste of time. I’m saddened that myself and hundreds of individuals like myself that have a hard time already keeping the faith (and are trying their best to hold on) are experiencing the lack of care and compassion this system has to offer. Shame on those in charge running this unhinged systemic trap.

I wouldn’t recommend Laurel Heights Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia to anyone. From the moment you walk in, the place feels cold and unwelcoming. The staff seemed overwhelmed at times and underpaid and sometimes inattentive, often leaving guardians and children waiting for hours without updates, especially the admission portion. The facilities looked outdated and old with peeling paint and broken furniture in common areas, as well as leaking basements, gas leaks, and disgusting bathrooms. Communication here was a nightmare—i was often left in the dark about treatment plans, and questions were brushed off with vague answers. My child’s clothing go missing constantly and it’s not replaced. She forgot her jacket at home and the facility did not provide any jackets to keep my baby warm. You get in touch with the operations director and she makes you promises she can’t keep and extremely uneducated to say the least. Instead of being a safe space for healing, Laurel Heights felt more like a warehouse where kids were numbers, not people. If this hospital wants to call itself a place of care, it needs a complete overhaul in staff training, basic compassion and new management overall. Side note: A previous staff that use to work at that place shared pictures with me at church.

The management was AWFUL here. I stayed at the Summit Trail and Mr.Ed was scamming these young adults out of their money! Including me. He demanded that I owe him all of this money and could not communicate properly on why and how…? I decided to move out and he did not do a walk through with me or even gave me the clarity I need for the amount of money that I (owed) But now… 8 months later I find out he gets let go of FOR taking these people’s money. I pray the structure of this program changes. All of the rules they have for these young adults is very unnecessary considering that they take their adult paychecks from their jobs. But yet.. have rules that treat them like they’re in a group home with all minors. The resources they give are very helpful… only if it is coming from a genuine place. I pray more authentic people who actually care for transitioning challenged young adults to a more healthier stable lifestyle. ❤️

I liked my doctor, but it’s incredibly frustrating and basically impossible to do anything from making an appointment (you take the time and date you’re given, or you’ll be playing phone tag for days), asking a simple question (“we’ll leave a note”— I have never received a reply or call back), to requesting a refill (another note left- count on calling back and spending 1 hr+ getting lucky enough to get someone on the line who is capable of helping).

I just wanted to parrot the other reviews I have seen, because I think they are really true. The office staff here, while nice, are very disorganized, slow moving, and seem to only get things done when it is convenient for them. Furthermore, their intake for new patients is ridiculously long which doesn't help you as a patient in any way. The first time I came here the person at the front desk couldn't find the form I needed to fill out. Then, after I got sent back for my actual intake, they discussed my form with me to double check things and go over payment. The person who was doing this had a hard time answering my questions that I had. And also, they listed my partner as "Other" in the emergency contact just because we are in an age-gap relationship. I know I put Partner. This seemed really insensitive to me. Then, I had to do THREE additional intakes. One with a nurse, one with the therapist, and one with the psychiatrist. All on seperate days, and spread out. This all took about a month and a half after establishing care, and I still was barely getting any help. The last things that pushed me to seek help somewhere else, was when they wouldn't send my medical records to my pharmacy to get medicine the psychiatrist perscribed. (A pre-authorization insurance thing.) So I never got it, and stopped taking my meds since the psych told me to hold on my current meds. Which sent me into a spiral mentally, and I tried to call the office for advice. THEY DID NOT GET BACK TO ME AT ALL. That was a MONTH ago. I only heard back from them yesterday when I called to cancel my current appointments and leave care. AND they said the main reason they got back to me was the forecast that showed bad weather. This again felt so insensitive, like the only reason I got a call back at all was for something seperate from my needs as a patient. Look, I just want to clarify I don't think anyone involved personally wanted to make things difficult. No one was ever rude to my face (except that one who went over payment). I get the impression it has something to do with their systems and administration, like above the people I talked to. But this doesn't mean the care I recieved was acceptable or professional.
