Vermont Psychological Services (VPS), located at 2 Colchester Avenue in Burlington, Vermont, is a nonprofit outpatient mental health clinic and training facility affiliated with the University of Vermont’s clinical psychology doctoral program. Since its founding in 1972, VPS has served over 15,000 clients across Vermont and New York State, offering accessible, evidence-based psychological care for individuals of all ages. Services are delivered by doctoral trainees under the supervision of licensed clinical psychologists, ensuring high-quality, research-supported treatment. The clinic specializes in both general and population-specific services, with a strong commitment to serving historically underserved groups, including low-income individuals, new Americans, refugees, LGBTQ+ clients, and those impacted by trauma or substance use.
VPS offers comprehensive therapy and psychological evaluation services, including specialized assessments for autism spectrum disorder, forensic cases, asylum seekers, and survivors of torture. Treatment approaches emphasize cognitive behavioral therapy and its targeted variations, such as trauma-focused CBT, prolonged exposure, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I have been working with a clinician at this practice for going on four years now. I am always treated with dignity and respect and I have received the most excellent counseling from my provider. She has seen me through the deaths of two family members and I honestly do not know what I would do without her services. Eden Valley has also made interns available to help me with some of the processes and organizing in my life that I need to do. I am so grateful to have found such an amazing fit for myself.
