UCSF Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital, located on the seventh floor of the UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion in San Francisco, California, is a cornerstone of adult mental health care in the region. Founded in 1941 as California’s first neuropsychiatric institute, it has become a nationally recognized center for inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, academic training, and mental health research. The facility offers comprehensive services including a 30-bed acute inpatient unit, a partial hospitalization program, an intensive outpatient program, and psychiatric consultation-liaison services. Patients receive care from a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists who develop individualized treatment plans for every case.
