The People Concern is dedicated to addressing the critical connection between homelessness and mental illness by integrating mental health care across all of its programs, from outreach to housing. Clinicians and therapists at The People Concern provide both individual and group therapy sessions, supporting participants in managing mental health symptoms and fostering healthier lives.
All staff members, regardless of their role, undergo Trauma-Informed Care training to ensure compassionate, effective support for individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges.
In addition to field-based mental health services, participants have access to comprehensive care at The People Concern’s Wellness Center. Located in Skid Row, this Medi-Cal certified outpatient mental health center offers a wide range of services, including counseling, psychiatry, support groups, and more, aimed at improving the mental well-being of individuals in need.
