SMYRC

SMYRC, located at 1220 SW Columbia Street in Portland, Oregon, is a vital community-based resource center dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA2S+ youth ages 13 to 24. Since 1998, SMYRC has provided a safe, affirming space where young people can access essential services and mental health support without fear of harassment. The facility offers comprehensive wraparound care including mental health counseling, individual in-person and virtual check-ins, support groups, and referrals to additional behavioral health resources. SMYRC is especially committed to meeting the unique emotional and psychological needs of youth navigating identity-related challenges, gender dysphoria, depression, trauma, and social isolation.

Through its inclusive and empowering approach, SMYRC not only provides mental health care but also basic needs support like food, clothing, hygiene products, and gender-affirming gear.
