SMYRC, located at 1220 SW Columbia Street in Portland, Oregon, is a vital community-based resource center dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA2S+ youth ages 13 to 24. Since 1998, SMYRC has provided a safe, affirming space where young people can access essential services and mental health support without fear of harassment. The facility offers comprehensive wraparound care including mental health counseling, individual in-person and virtual check-ins, support groups, and referrals to additional behavioral health resources. SMYRC is especially committed to meeting the unique emotional and psychological needs of youth navigating identity-related challenges, gender dysphoria, depression, trauma, and social isolation.
