The Center for Families outpatient program in Minneapolis offers comprehensive, integrated, evidence-based care for adolescents and adults facing primary mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD, along with co-occurring issues like substance use and eating disorders. Designed to support healing and growth, the program blends clinical therapies with engaging experiential activities in a nurturing environment.
Clients benefit from a tailored treatment plan created by a multidisciplinary team that includes board-certified psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, nurses, and dietitians. The program offers a full-day Therapeutic Day Program/Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) five days a week, and a partial-day Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) three to four days a week. Both formats integrate clinical interventions, experiential therapies, life skills training, family support, and academic tutoring to foster holistic recovery.
Therapeutic activities take place both indoors and outdoors, with clients enjoying yoga, art, music, improv theater, and outdoor adventures such as kayaking on nearby Bde Maka Ska lake. These experiential groups encourage peer connection and help clients develop healthy coping strategies.
The Center for Families is committed to providing gender-affirming care and partners with organizations like The Trevor Project to ensure specialized support for LGBTQIA+ clients. Psychiatric assessments and medication management are also part of the comprehensive services, all delivered with compassion and respect.
