Glenwood Inc.’s main campus—located at 150 Glenwood Lane in Birmingham, Alabama—spans 363 scenic acres nestled behind Liberty Park. Known for its inviting trails, private Turkey Foot Lake, swimming pool, and wooded camp-like atmosphere, the campus supports both children and adults with autism and intellectual disabilities. Participants enjoy a blend of outdoor and indoor programming, including canoeing, hiking, arts and crafts, therapeutic games, and music therapy.
The campus houses the Allan Cott School—the first certified special education program in Alabama offering services for students aged 6–21 with autism and intellectual disabilities—along with more than 14 residential homes, day programs, and the Sullivan Center, which provides training for adult independence. Glenwood’s multidisciplinary, evidence-based model integrates ABA, speech, and occupational therapies into both educational and residential environments. The institution promotes personalized planning, family involvement, and skill-building across communication, motor, self-care, vocational, and social domains.
