Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) offer the highest level of outpatient mental health care, typically structured as five to six hours of treatment per day, five days per week. PHPs are designed for individuals who require intensive daily support but do not need 24-hour inpatient supervision.

PHP treatment usually includes a combination of individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, and skills-based sessions. It is commonly used as a step-down from inpatient hospitalization or as a step-up for individuals whose needs exceed standard outpatient or IOP-level care.
