Wisconsin Resource Center

Wisconsin Resource Center in Winnebago, Wisconsin provides specialized residential mental health treatment for state prison residents with significant mental health needs. Managed by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in partnership with the Department of Corrections, the center offers correctional mental health services, substance use disorder treatment, treatment to competency, competency restoration, psychological assessment, pre-release programming, and release planning.

Care at Wisconsin Resource Center supports adults, men, women, state prison residents, and forensic populations experiencing mental health challenges, severe & persistent mental illness, acute mental health symptoms, substance use disorder, trauma, self-injury, aggression, impulsivity, and interpersonal difficulties. Treatment may include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Illness Management & Recovery, trauma therapy, EMDR Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma Recovery & Empowerment Model (TREM), wellness & recovery planning, and coping skills training. Wisconsin Resource Center is accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care and was named the 2022 R. Scott Chavez Facility of the Year.
