The Co-Occurring Disorders Unit at Sheppard Pratt’s Towson campus in Baltimore, Maryland, is a specialized 20-bed inpatient program designed for adults ages 18 to 65 who are navigating the challenges of both mental illness and substance use disorders. This short-term psychiatric unit focuses on crisis stabilization, providing a safe, structured environment where individuals can begin their recovery journey. With an average stay of seven to eight days, the unit’s goal is to help patients safely move toward a less-intensive level of care as soon as possible.
