The Mountain Center – Harm Reduction in Española, New Mexico, provides comprehensive, evidence-based services designed to reduce the health risks associated with substance use. Operating since 2005, the program has become one of the largest syringe exchange and Naloxone distribution providers in the state. Located at 1000 North Paseo de Onate, the facility serves individuals throughout Rio Arriba County and northern Santa Fe County, offering both office-based and mobile outreach services to increase accessibility in rural and underserved communities.

This outpatient harm reduction and substance use treatment center offers syringe exchange, rapid HIV and Hepatitis C testing, overdose prevention training, Naloxone distribution, food support, and auricular acupuncture. The program also provides medication-assisted treatment, including Suboxone treatment, along with individual counseling and case management. By combining clinical care with practical risk-reduction strategies, The Mountain Center helps reduce overdose deaths, prevent the spread of infectious diseases, and connect individuals to long-term recovery resources.
