Samaritan Behavioral Center

Samaritan Behavioral Center, located within the expansive Samaritan Center campus on Detroit’s east side, provides essential behavioral health and human services to some of the city’s most underserved populations. Originally developed on the site of the former Mercy Hospital, the Samaritan Center has grown into Michigan’s largest one-stop, multi-service community hub. It welcomes over 1,500 visitors daily, offering a collaborative space for a variety of partner organizations dedicated to improving the health, stability, and well-being of the surrounding community.

At the heart of Samaritan Behavioral Center’s mission is a focus on accessibility and compassion. The facility provides critical outpatient behavioral health services, including mental health counseling, case management, and grief support. Clients can also receive referrals for basic needs such as housing, food, employment assistance, and domestic violence support. With a strong community-based and person-centered approach, Samaritan Behavioral Center continues to serve as a vital lifeline for individuals and families navigating mental health challenges and socioeconomic hardship across the Detroit area.
