Facility Overview

Pathways to Healing, located at 3830 Forest Drive, Suite 201 in Columbia, South Carolina, is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual assault and abuse. Established in 1983, it is one of 15 rape crisis centers in the state, serving Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Clarendon, and Sumter counties. The organization provides confidential, no-cost services for survivors and their loved ones, including crisis intervention, individual counseling, advocacy, and referrals to additional supportive resources.

The center employs highly trained staff who use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help survivors process trauma and regain control over their lives. With services tailored for children, adolescents, adults, and families, Pathways to Healing also operates a 24-hour crisis hotline and provides hospital accompaniment to support survivors immediately following an assault. The organization emphasizes safety, coping skill development, and a supportive, non-judgmental environment to guide survivors through every stage of the healing process.
