Newport Academy

Newport Academy’s outpatient program in Fairfax, Virginia, provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health treatment for teenagers facing anxiety, depression, trauma, or academic and social-emotional challenges. Tailored to each adolescent’s needs, the program combines clinical care with family involvement to foster sustainable healing and stronger parent-teen relationships.

With more than 15 percent of Virginia teens experiencing major depression, and less than half receiving adequate care, Newport Academy is addressing a critical gap in youth mental health services. The Fairfax location offers both Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs designed to fit adolescents’ schedules and support their ongoing development.

Treatment at the Fairfax teen mental health center includes individual and group therapy, teen depression counseling, family therapy, and parent support groups. Therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and other proven approaches. Teens also engage in expressive therapies in dedicated art and music studios, enhancing emotional expression and personal growth.
