The Milwaukee LGBT Community Center, located at 315 West Court Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a nonprofit, community-driven organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals and families across Greater Milwaukee. Founded in 1998, the Center provides a welcoming and inclusive space that supports holistic health and social connectedness through free counseling, support groups, advocacy, and essential community resources such as a food pantry, gender-affirming boutique, and a public lending library.
Mental health and emotional wellness are core elements of the Center’s mission. Proudly offering free, trauma-informed counseling by licensed professionals, the Center supports individuals dealing with trauma, gender dysphoria, substance use, sexual assault, domestic or dating violence, stalking, and other crises. Care is available through individual, couple, family, and group sessions, all designed with cultural competency and a gender-affirming approach at the forefront. Specialized programs—such as Recovery Coaching, peer-led support groups for transgender and nonbinary individuals, and dedicated youth outreach like Project Q—help ensure that community members receive compassionate, personalized support on their paths toward healing.
