Discovery Mood and Anxiety Program

Discovery Mood & Anxiety Program in Whittier, California is a 25-bed residential mental health facility serving adolescents and young adults. The program offers both step-down and step-up levels of care and treats trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, self-harm, bipolar disorder, reactive attachment disorder, high-functioning autism, and complex trauma. Clinical services include weekly psychiatric evaluation, dietitian support, individual and family therapy, and academic support through an on-site education liaison.

Therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), traumatic grief therapy, motivational interviewing, music therapy, sound bath and body movement therapy, expressive writing, and therapeutic beach walks. Family involvement is integrated throughout the residential program.
