I spent 28 days here at French Creek. I am currently sober a month and 11 days now. While many had complaints about schedule, food, people, whatnot... I don't have such complaints. I realized I am not seeking help with my addiction to be on a vacation, I wasn't at a five star resort ... And quickly realized that what I could gain from treatment is solely dependent on ME. Not the staff, not the clients, not the program. ME. And I dove into taking advantage of every opportunity I could at French Creek. I connected with the techs, my counselor ... I asked for self exploration work... I offered to volunteer in the kitchen... And connected with clients... I was very impressed with the simple fact that 95% of the individuals employed at the Creek, from administrative, to the counselors, to the techs ... Are ALL in RECOVERY. It made connecting and HEARING much easier and made me more eager to not just swallow, but digest the information and advice and guidance. I got a sense that the staff ACTUALLY care and are doing this job for a reason. The nurses I felt were excellent. Lindsey was my favorite! When I completed the program, I was set up with the alumni group from French Creek. And am active daily via the app, messenger, and zoom meetings. I want to shout out to Kiersten, Holly, Frankie, Michelle, Liz, Q, Kerri, Justin, Tiny, Wendy, Lori, Kaylee, Kat, Patrick, Joe, Lisa, Jessica, Amber, Lindsey and Heather. I wasn't serious about my sobriety when I arrived, but by the time I left, I was. And I left with confidence in my ability and desire to maintain my sobriety and take recovery seriously. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for everything and for helping me decide to remain sober. Truly changed my life! UPDATE: I am now over 70 days sober. No relapses.
