AccessHealth provides Counseling services—formerly known as Behavioral Health—to individuals experiencing emotional challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship and family issues, life stressors, school-related behavioral concerns, and more. The Counseling team collaborates closely with primary care providers to help patients understand and manage troubling thoughts, feelings, and behaviors related to their emotional or medical conditions. The program is designed to foster ongoing relationships with patients, offering consistent support and encouraging them to overcome challenges while exploring life choices.

Counseling services are available at all AccessHealth locations and via telehealth, serving children, teens, and adults in both English and Spanish. AccessHealth accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance, and offers a sliding fee scale based on income and family size to ensure services are accessible to all.

AccessHealth features a unique, multi-tiered behavioral health treatment model that emphasizes patient-centric care through accessibility and customized support. At the core of this model is the AccessHealth CORE Team—a group of Counseling Support Specialists who guide clients through a comprehensive process beginning with initial screenings and assessments. Clients work directly with the CORE team to evaluate treatment needs, set referral goals, and create individualized care plans. Collaboration with other AccessHealth resources is also facilitated.

CORE Team services are delivered weekly and focus on building healthy habits, positive coping strategies, and self-care practices. Services begin immediately upon request and continue in four-week intervals. The goal is to empower clients to become self-sufficient in their mental health journey, while providing ongoing support as they transition to higher levels of care when needed.
