The staff and doctors here need to be investigated by the state medical board. For decades this hospital, specifically the ER department, has been a joke among people who live in the area. Poor service, bad advice from doctors. But it’s not a joke when they do things that could end in fatality. This is week a family member went to ER and the doctor not only refused to run tests for the presented problem, he also prescribed a medication that treats the opposite condition. If I didn’t intervene, or if this had been a child, they could have died. We’re reporting this to as many agencies as possible. DO NOT CONSIDER THIS AN OPTION IN EMERGENCIES. If this were my closest ER, I would educate myself and family on first aid and basic life saving techniques and have basic equipment on hand to get you to Minden, Magnolia, Bossier….anywhere but this hospital.
