Spurwink’s Living Room Crisis Center (LRCC) in South Portland, Maine provides immediate, compassionate crisis care for individuals experiencing acute mental health or substance use concerns. Designed as a voluntary alternative to emergency departments, law enforcement involvement, or inpatient hospitalization, the LRCC offers walk-in crisis stabilization in a calm, welcoming environment. The center serves as a vital bridge between community-based crisis response services and higher levels of care when needed.
Clients receive rapid assessment, short-term support, and connection to ongoing treatment resources through trauma-informed, person-centered care. The LRCC supports adults and teens experiencing emotional distress, mental health crises, substance use crises, or co-occurring conditions. By prioritizing dignity, safety, and timely intervention, Spurwink’s Living Room Crisis Center helps individuals stabilize and move forward with appropriate community-based supports.
Very solid mental health program with capable staff. Could improve on 12-Step Recovery education. However, gained a wealth of information and insight into my mental health challenges and ways to overcome them.
