Prestera Health Services – Kanawha Child & Family Services, located in South Charleston, West Virginia, offers comprehensive, office-based therapeutic support for children and adolescents ages 4 to 18, as well as their families. The program is designed to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and substance use challenges through individualized treatment planning that actively involves both the child and their caregivers. Extended eligibility is available for youth over 18 who remain in school. Services include psychiatric and psychological testing, evidence-based therapies, and medication management, all delivered in a compassionate, supportive setting.
This center serves as a hub for multiple specialized programs, including the CSED Waiver initiative, which supports children with severe emotional disorders while enabling them to remain at home. The Regional Youth Service Center (RYSC) coordinates vital community-based resources and offers programs such as Hazelden Living Skills, Mind Matters, Nurturing Parent, and SMART Recovery. Additional services include suicide prevention, military family support, and treatment for juvenile and adult drug court participants. Prestera also operates a 24/7 Children’s Mobile Crisis Response Team to assist families during emotional or behavioral emergencies, helping restore stability while keeping youth in their homes, schools, and communities.
