The New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute (NMBHI), located at 3695 Hot Springs Boulevard in Las Vegas, New Mexico, is the only state-owned and operated psychiatric hospital in the state. Accredited by The Joint Commission, NMBHI provides comprehensive behavioral health care for adolescents and adults through five clinical divisions, including the Adult Psychiatric Division, the Center for Adolescent Relationship Exploration (CARE), and the Forensic Division. The facility specializes in acute inpatient psychiatric care, residential treatment, forensic inpatient services, and competency restoration, serving individuals with major mental illnesses, co-occurring disorders, trauma, and behavioral disturbances. NMBHI is committed to person-first, trauma-informed, and strength-based care, offering a safe and structured environment to support healing and recovery.

NMBHI employs a multidisciplinary treatment team including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists to provide individualized care plans.
