Located at 81-6587 Mamalahoa Hwy in Kealakekua, HI, Child & Family Service (CFS) delivers essential behavioral health and family-centered programs to youth and families across Hawai‘i Island. This Family Center offers Crisis Mobile Outreach (CMO) services, providing immediate support for youth facing psychiatric crises, including suicidal ideation, self-harm, homicidal thoughts, and psychosis. CMO teams deliver stabilization, counseling, and referrals directly in the community, ensuring children and teens get the help they need when they need it most.
CFS also offers a 3–6 month intensive family therapy program for youth ages 11–18 experiencing conduct disorders, substance use, emotional challenges, and family conflict. Treatment occurs in both home and office settings, with services like Functional Family Therapy, Multisystemic Therapy, and Intensive In-Home Therapy designed to reduce externalizing behaviors and promote long-term family stability.
As part of its statewide mission, the Kealakekua Family Center serves as a walk-in resource hub—providing domestic violence advocacy, shelter referrals, sexual abuse treatment, and parenting support. Backed by over a century of service, Child & Family Service continues to strengthen vulnerable families and foster safer, more resilient communities across Hawai‘i.
