Brighter Path Courtland is a long-standing residential treatment facility in Courtland, Alabama, established in 1990 and certified by the Alabama Department of Mental Health. The center provides Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) level care in a trauma-informed environment for adolescent males experiencing complex emotional and behavioral challenges. With 28 beds for individuals exhibiting sexually reactive behavior and 18 beds for those with severe behavioral and emotional disorders, Brighter Path Courtland delivers a highly structured, secure setting for youth placed by Alabama DHR and State Multiple Needs. Accredited by the Joint Commission, the facility applies a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) model supported by individualized, supervised treatment plans tailored to each youth’s clinical and behavioral needs.
