Billings Clinic Psychiatric Center, located at 2950 10th Avenue North in Billings, Montana, is the largest psychiatric inpatient hospital facility in the state, serving both youth and adults with comprehensive mental health care. With 44 beds—divided between the Youth Inpatient Unit and Adult Inpatient Unit—the center provides acute, short-term inpatient care for individuals at risk of harm to themselves or others, as well as those experiencing functional impairments. A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and mental health specialists ensures each patient receives individualized assessment, stabilization, and discharge planning tailored to their needs.
The center also offers a Youth Partial Hospitalization Program (YPHP), providing structured outpatient care and accredited educational instruction for children and adolescents ages seven to seventeen. This program employs evidence-based, trauma-informed therapeutic approaches and supports youth in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and effective communication strategies. Billings Clinic Psychiatric Center emphasizes holistic and trauma-informed care, integrating models such as the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency (ARC), and Triple Chronotherapy to promote resilience and long-term wellness.
Committed to addressing mental health challenges across eastern Montana and northern Wyoming, the facility also participates in community initiatives such as Project ECHO and mindfulness training for caregivers. Through its combination of inpatient, partial hospitalization, and outpatient services, Billings Clinic Psychiatric Center ensures accessible, comprehensive, and evidence-based care for children, adolescents, and adults facing mental health crises or chronic psychiatric conditions.
