Astor Services for Children and Families operates the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at 205 South Avenue, Suite 105 in Poughkeepsie, NY. This structured, short-term day program provides intensive behavioral health support for youth ages 11 to 18 who are experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges at home, in school, or in the community. Designed to stabilize youth and reduce the need for inpatient psychiatric care, the program runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as its core evidence-based treatment model, the program features daily group therapy, weekly individual counseling, family therapy and coaching, and a DBT Caregiver Support Group. Youth also receive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, substance use screening and treatment, and two hours of onsite academic instruction each day through LearnWell. The program supports crisis stabilization with 24/7 behavioral health coaching and offers a comprehensive discharge plan, including linkage to follow-up services.
Astor’s PHP is ideal for adolescents entering behavioral health care for the first time or transitioning from inpatient or residential programs. The program’s integrative, trauma-informed approach helps young people build emotional regulation skills and strengthen family relationships in a supportive, non-residential environment.
