Alma Family Services

Alma Family Services, located at 18780 Amar Road, Suite 204, in Walnut, California, is a trusted nonprofit organization that has been serving the community since 1975. Originally founded by parents in East Los Angeles, Alma has grown into a leader in providing multilingual, culturally responsive, and family-centered behavioral health care. The organization’s mission is rooted in a “whatever it takes” philosophy—meeting individuals and families where they are through compassionate, evidence-based, and community-integrated mental health services. With multiple outpatient offices across Los Angeles County, including Walnut, Pico Rivera, and Long Beach, Alma offers accessible and comprehensive care for people of all ages and backgrounds.

The center provides an extensive range of outpatient and community-based programs designed to meet diverse needs. Services include individual, group, and family therapy, case management, psychiatric assessment, medication support, and crisis intervention. Alma’s Prevention & Early Intervention programs focus on identifying and addressing mental health concerns before they escalate, using proven models such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, and Parent Child Interactive Therapy. Specialized programs also support children in schools, transitional-age youth, CalWORKs and GROW participants, and older adults managing life transitions or chronic stressors.
