I last reviewed Schemmel Psychological Services several years ago, I am still seeing Todd regularly. For me, based on the issues I am dealing with, it is a long process but maybe someday I will get there. Without his patience and understanding, I would likely have succumbed to the self-destructive thoughts that plague me. His non-judgmental attitude has allowed me to share the secrets that I never thought I would let another person know, let alone be able to say out loud. I started therapy just sitting on his couch, rarely speaking. I progressed to sharing journals and sketch books, vaguely sharing secrets I could not speak about. I have now communicated in one way or another the acts that cause my greatest shame. Rather than throwing in the towel or rushing the process or redirecting session topics to something more comfortable, Todd has continued to listen, offer compassion & understanding, and put up with me when some in the MH field would have given up on me a long time ago.
