Facility Overview

American Behavioral Health Systems – Wenatchee Evaluation & Treatment Center offers a comprehensive and secure facility for both involuntary and voluntary clients experiencing behavioral health and substance use crises. With over 30 dedicated beds in a co-ed Crisis Stabilization Unit, this center provides a safe and structured environment for individuals in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, and Okanogan Counties under the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 71.05 guidelines.

The interdisciplinary care team includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Mental Health Professionals, Substance Use Disorder Counselors, and daily access to a Psychiatric MD/Addictionologist for acute psychiatric and withdrawal needs. Services include individual and group therapy, mental health and substance use assessments, medication management, case management, discharge planning, court hearings coordination, and support for custodial visitation. Additional support is provided by bilingual and American Sign Language services, a professional dietitian, and state/local transportation as needed.

Clients are referred to the center by Designated Crisis Responders (DCRs) and may be admitted due to danger to self, danger to others, grave disability, or behavioral contract violations. This highly specialized unit plays a vital role in stabilizing clients during the critical initial 120-hour detention period, often transitioning them to longer-term psychiatric or addiction recovery providers with a coordinated care handoff.
